His Eidolon
Description
He had never asked to be summoned from the outer realm in the first place. Nor did Byunghyun ask for his Summoner to die before sending him back, making him a 'rogue' Eidolon by default. And he certainly hadn't asked to be captured by the Mage Guild where he was subsequently bound to the recently blinded alchemist Minsoo.
But Byunghyun learns that sometimes, what he doesn't want ends up being just what he needs. Or at the very least, it ends up being much better than he ever thought it would be in the first place.
Foreword
Set in a world of casters, alchemists, and Eidolons - otherwise known as summoned creatures from the outer realms - Byunghyun has been partnered with Minsoo for over a decade. During that time, the 'rogue' Eidolon and the alchemist have grown close, able to sense what the other thinks and feels more often than not.
When Summoner Jonghyun warns the magical energies in the area are more active than usual that evening, it doesn't stop Minsoo from insisting on their planned reagent run anyway. Reluctantly, Byunghyun agrees with the plan, if only to make sure nothing ill befalls his strange, blind, human alchemist.
Personally, the presence of excess magical energies doesn't bother Byunghyun, since he is made of them himself.
But he does worry what they can do to a human. Even a magically inclined one.
