Today had been bad enough to make it into my "Top 10 Worst Days of My Life" list.

It just so happened to be the day I broke up with my boyfriend, Jackson, and the day I had to deal with frustrating messages left behind by faceless keyboard warriors, mostly insulting and targeting my flaws. As if I had not already been in a horrible mood before I switched my computer on.

Seriously, today was the worst day.

I've had my fair share of dealing with anonymous hate when I was about 15 or 16, and if you haven't been through that phase, you probably don't know that it isn't as easy as just closing the tab and forgetting about the entire situation. Note that in the midst of all the teenage angst, unwillingness to grow up, confusion about what to do in life and the personality crisis, there's all this anonymous bull added and it just really . There's something that tugs at the insecurity in you, that makes you click the refresh button countless times to see more anonymous hate being left behind. The worst part is when you try to defend yourself, and there's a whole new onslaught of it. I really couldn't stand my family being shamed (some keyboard warriors really went overboard and just started slandering my family) and I deleted the account.

If you're going through this stage, you are being bullied. Don't brush it off as anything less than that, because this is infringing on your self-esteem and tearing you down as a person. Don't let some faceless person who has nothing better to do make your life miserable, because there are so many other wonderful people on this planet you could be smiling and laughing with instead. Talk to friends you trust, or family members if you're comfortable about it. Never bottle it up and never blame yourself for being you.
