It was now or never. It was his chance. But why couldn't he utter a word? Was Jung Yong Hwa scared of rejection? There she was, Park Shin Hye, the girl he has liked for so long, looking him in the eyes, as if anticipating something. Why couldn't he answer her question? Why couldn't he just tell her that she was the one he liked?

But how did Yong Hwa end up in such situation?

~Flashback~

Yong Hwa woke up to what seemed like a pretty normal day. He woke up, brushed his teeth, took a shower, got dressed, ate breakfast, got picked up by his bandmate, Kang Min-Hyuk and then went to the studio where they always met up to practice their songs. 

When they entered the studio, they saw her. She was sitting on a chair, not noticing that Min-Hyuk and Yong Hwa had entered, watching their other bandmates practicing. But why was she there? Yong Hwa was about to ask but Min-Hyuk beat him to it.

"Noona! What brings you here?" Min-Hyuk exclaimed with a hint of happiness. This caught Shin Hye's attention. She stood up and turned around. Shin Hye smiled at Min-Hyuk, knowing that he only acted this way around CNBLUE and her. She felt like she was the fifth member of the band and they see her as a member of CNBLUE. 

"I just wanted to hang out with you guys. And since I have a day off, why not?" She replied with a smile plastered on her face. She then hugged Min-Hyuk, to which he gladly accepted, as a way of greeting

As soon as they seperated, her eyes met with YongHwa's. But when she smiled at him he turned away and started walking to Lee Jung Shin, pretending that he purposely did it because he wanted to talk to him about their new songs. Shin Hye became confused with his sudden actions. She knew him to well to not notice that he didn't greet her as he usually did, but she just let it go.

After 2 hours of practicing, they felt hungry, so Kang Min-Hyuk dragged Lee Jung Shin and Lee Jong Hyun, knowing this could be Yong Hwa's opportunity to get closer to Shin Hye. Yong Hwa tried to go with them but Min-Hyuk didn't let him, so he had no choice but to stay with Shin Hye. 

She stood up and dragged him towards the couch so they could sit and talk because they haven't talked in quite a while. Shin Hye did most of the talking while he acted as if he wasn't interested, but he was listening to every word she said.

"Gwenchana, Yong Hwa?" She asked with concern. (A/N: Gwenchana means 'Are you okay'. PS. I don't know how to spell them)

"Nothing. I'm perfectly fine." He asked acting as if that was how he usually was. But he couldn't fool her.

"Ani. You've been distancing yourself from me. Is it something I did? What's on your mind? You have to tell me or else I won't be able to help." She pleaded. That's when he gave up and just decided to obey her.

"Hullyungha... But let me ask you a question first..." He said kinda awkwardly.

"Arasso. What's your question?" Shin Hye asked while waiting patiently. 

There was a long awkward pause. (A/N: Ani means 'no'. Hullyungha means 'fine'. Arasso means 'okay'. Noona means 'older sister/girl')

"What do you do when you like someone?" Yong Hwa asked reluctantly. He looked at Shin Hye, who seemed to be in deep thought.

"I don't know. I've never really thought about it. Wait... Do you like someone, Yong Hwa-ssi?" Shin Hye asked with curiosity. 

There was another round of silence. That was all she needed for an answer. There was a glint in her eyes. Was it hope? But hope for what exactly?

"WHO!" She half-shouted enthusiastically.

"Um..." He didn't know what to say.

~End of Flashback~

And that's how Yong Hwa ended up in this situation.
