"How many?" the man asked and held his gun tighter. Eun Mi had no idea who he was but she knew that he was a hunter in their force. The force had gained so many new hunters over the years it was impossible to remember everyone's name.

"Five. Two of them ran off to the left. Go after them, I'll handle the rest."

He nodded and called some backup with him. She watched them run to the direction she pointed at and was left alone. Eun Mi didn't mind hunting alone. In fact, she liked it. She had always focused better by herself. Everyone else knew that so they didn't bother sending anyone with her unless she asked to. Her dad was worried about her being alone but he knew there was nothing he could do to change the situation.

Eun Mi was the only woman hunter alive.

She was also the best hunter in their force.

And she was the only hunter who had ever caught an alpha.

Eun pulled her riffle on her shoulder and ran after the remaining three wolves.
They weren't just regular hunters hunting after regular wolves - no, they were hunters hunting werewolves.

Half human half wolf.

She realized that the world she lived in was way more messed up than she thought when she accidentally ran into a werewolf as a kid.

Her mother Mi Young was terrified, she thought it was going to kill Eun. Mi Young never told her how but Eun had managed to scare the wolf away and make it shift into it's human form.

She was six.

Eun sharpened her hearing - something was close.

Behind her.

She smirked as she heard a low growl come out of it's throat.

She spun around and faced the wolf.

This one was huge. She could tell it was a male. From the looks of the wolf, it might have been an alpha. She frowned. They weren't supposed to kill the alphas, just knock them out and take them to her dad who was the leader of their force. They needed information from them - about their pack, about their whereabouts and stuff related to that. If they didn't spill the beans, the hunters had no choice but to torture the information out of them.

Not that it would be that hard for them to do that.

Every wolf was different color, even if there were two black wolves, one of them would be a different shade, either darker or lighter. They also had different eyecolors but their eyes stayed human when they were on two legs.

The wolf watched her with his eyes - it's eyes were red which meant it was an alpha as she had suspected.

It's lips curled up as it let it's white fangs show. Drool was dropping off of them onto the ground as it eyed her. Another growl echoed behind it's black fur.

"I hope you aren't thinking of killing me." Eun said as she innocently walked towards it with her gun hanging down. "That plan is not going to work."

The wolf gazed at her angrily and crouched to the ground, ready to attack.

"Oh I wouldn't do that." she hummed. "Never ends well."

She was provoking it and it worked - it was getting pissed off.

She had about ten seconds before it was going to attack. Everyone always underestimated her because she was a woman.

Terrible mistake.

The wolf barked angrily and jumped towards her and at the same moment Eun jumped backwards. It landed a few feet away from her and let out an annoyed groan.

Eun smirked at it as it sparred again - this time Eun didn't move. She let it come closer, let it believe it had the chance to kill her.

Then, in an istant as the massive animal jumped at her, the gun was on her hand and she hit it's head with force while it was still in the air, inches away from her face and watched it fall to the ground, unconscious.

She tossed it with her feet to make sure it was really uncoscious and snorted.

"Guys!" she shouted loud enough for them to hear. "I got an alpha!"

It only took a few minutes for people to start gathering around and carry the wolf to the van. They told Eun Mi they got the rest of the pack too.

Jae Ho approached her. He was in an important position in the hunter circle - a lead hunter.

"Eun Mi. Good job, again." he smiled at her. "I don't know how you do it."

She bowed her head politely as he tapped her back and went to help the other hunters.

She hated when people used her real name. Eun Mi. It was because of her mother.

She used to be a hunter too. Best of their kind, they told her. She never failed at her job. She was fearless. Powerful. She died ten years ago, when Eun Mi was eight. It was an attack. Her family was camping. Her mother, Eun and her dad. A pack surrounded them and killed her mother. She was in a shock when it happened so she couldn't really remember much of it.

Only the wolves and her mothers painful screams.

That's why she became a hunter.

She wanted to seek revenge. She wanted to get justice for her mother. She wanted to hunt down every single one of those creatures. They weren't supposed to exist. They were evil.

Eun Mi's dad Ki Moon went a little crazy after that. He had collected all the hunters together and they hunt down every single one of the wolves that had participied in murdering his wife.

Her mother's name was Mi Young. Eun Mi got her name after her and didn't want to keep the 'Mi' part after she died so she went with just Eun.

She noticed Dong Chul walking towards her. He was also a hunter in their force. He was at Eun's age, 18. He was one of her closest friends here and he was also her partner, whenever she felt the need for one.

"You did it again, huh? Another alpha? I just don't get it. Why do you have to be a natural talent?" Dong Chul pouted playfully.

She could thank her mother for that.

"Eun-ah!" she heard her dad call after her. He had also stopped using her real name. The only people who used it anymore were the hunters who weren't that familiar with her because they felt it was polite.

"Yes dad, here!" she yelled back and in a moment, Ki Moon appeared in front of her and Dong Chul. He was an inditimating looking guy. The power he held radiated from him. Althought he was greying and nearing his fifties he still looked scary but if you'd know him better you'd know he was a sweet old man.

"I'm so proud of you sweetie." Ki Moon planted a kiss on her daughter's forehead. "You take after your mother. She'd be proud too."

Eun hid the pain in her heart as she started to pull away.

"Dad, you're embarrasing me." she mumbled and the man seemed to notice Dong Chul just then.

"Dong Chul, great to see you!" he smiled and Dong Chul bowed politely in front of his leader. "I have to stay and take care of the preparation, it's getting dark out here and I don't want her running alone in the forests. Could you please guide her home for me?"

Eun frowned and let out a whine. "Dad, how many times do I have to remind you that I can take care of myself?"

Ki Moon smiled and a crease appeared between his brows.

"Oh trust me, I know you can. Just for my mind to rest." he said.

Eun sighed. "Fine. See you at home."

With that she and Dong Chul sparred into the forest.
