I passed by the windows. The trees had started to grow back their leaves. The holidays had all passed, and I had exchanged New Year wishes with my Korean relatives. Everything seemed to blur, but I was no longer a child, where a day lasts forever.

Thoughts of Karen now only crept out when I was sitting in a peaceful room, where everything was quiet.

“Jerome?” I turned around to see a gangly youth, who looked to be a freshman. His long face seemed to be serious, yet a smile lit up his face. “Hi, my name is Kyuhyun,” he said. “I want to thank you for being in part of the announcement about music. You inspired me to actually do something with my life. I used to play video games every day, besides doing homework, eating, and sleeping. I had a dream of singing since I was 10, but I figured it was too late. Your speech gave me confidence to try, and I’m a soloist now at my church. So, I just wanted to thank you for what you’ve done.”

“You’re welcome. Keep it up.” I watched him smile and run off, calling some friend’s name I guessed. I looked up at the sky. It wasn’t me he had to thank, I thought and continued my way.

As for the ending, you could have blend in the two last chapters. Trust me, they make more sense together than apart^^
