Jongwoon. Open your eyes.

I opened them, finding myself in a white room. “Where am I?”

You are in the judging room. Where sins and good deeds are listed for you.

“What? Wait, you mean I’m dead? Please tell me you’re joking.”

I heard a sigh. Okay, you’re not dead. You’re in coma. However, if I wanted to, I could take your life away this second. Do you want to see how well you’ve been doing?

“All right.”

A scroll appeared in front of me, and unrolled itself. My eyes widened as I noticed the list of sins was WAY longer than the list of good deeds.

“What? When did singing along to the radio become a sin?”

Did I write that? You must have been horrible at it.

“Really? And what about this here, insulting a girl behind her back?”

No excuses.

“She was mean to everyone! Come on man.”

Do you know who you’re even questioning?

“What, you’re like, God or something?”

Pretty much the closest thing you humans could wrap your head around.

“Okay, you’re like creeping me out now.”

Have I ever mentioned I think like is an overused word?

“Okay, chill, I’m sorry. So, what am I supposed to do? I’m here for a reason, right?”

Yes you are. You should be grateful I don’t get angry too easily. You are here for a second chance. Either you can go through that door, a door appeared in front of me, or you can choose to go on a task to redeem yourself. Not to mention you will live longer.

“Live longer?”

Well you could end your life right here. I wouldn’t recommend it though.

Second chance huh? “What do I have to do?”

You’ll have to reach out to a person you have never met before and help him or her achieve his or her deepest wish.

“A person I’ve never met before?” I scoffed. “I know everyone in Soul Mountains High.”

Are you sure you have?

“…okay fine I might not.”

At least you’re honest. Just remember, you can do anything if you look hard enough. Look behind you.

I turned to see another door.

Hairs stood on the back of my neck. Where was the eerie music when you need it? “I won’t forget.”

Probably speaking to you in your head. I do have that ability you know. However, if you go around saying you’re Jesus 2.0-

“Give me a break. Why would I do that?”

Very well. Good day, Jongwoon. Or should I say, Yesung.

I flinched. “How do you know my nickname?”

Didn’t I say that God was the closest thing you could think of me as? I have powers and knowledge you can’t even wrap your brain around. You’re dismissed.

I started walking to the door, but then I turned. “What about my friends?”

Hmmm? Oh, your friends. I’m trying to decide what to do with them. Any suggestions?

“Me? Advising God what to do?”

Why not? I have nothing else to do anyway. All you humans being born and dying, and recording your sins…

It did sound pretty boring. I shrugged. “If you give them a second chance like you did to me…I don’t know. I’m pretty sure they would stay the way they were anyhow.”

That’s what I thought. Well, good day Yesung. I will be making my decision soon, so you won’t have to wait that long.

Waiting? Ugh. I shook my head and walked out.

Hi guys!

So for those who don’t know my writing style, I like to write notes at the bottom of my chapters. Yes, I’m not a machine that comes up with little tidbits of stories at a time. I have my thoughts too. I hope you’re prepared for this. Feel free to comment on my little commentaries! (At least that’s what I think they’re called.) I’ll try to reply either in comments or in these author notes section.

Also, this time I will be doing something new. When there is a change in perspective, there’s going to be two asterisks in the middle. You’ll see. I just do that b/c I’m lazy (haha see what I did there?) and I don’t feel like writing “Okay change of POV here” and whatnot. Sorry. It’s just that there will be a lot of change of POVS here. I’m still figuring out a way to clarify who’s POV it is without writing too much…can you guys handle it? I know it gets confusing…

You know what? I’ll figure this out soon. Just give me a few more chapters, k?

Okay, so to clarify this section, Yesung is literally talking with God. You know that scene from Postman from Heaven? Sort of like that. Except God is going to be interesting and modern. Shocking, right?

And for those who might be wondering, yes I am atheist. However, my grandma used to take me to her Baptist Church when I was little in order to save costs for day care. I stopped going because I started having swimming practices on Sunday, and when I moved the kids at my church were pretty rude. (And I though to be a good Christian was to be a good person. >.< Maybe someone that clarify that for me?) Not to mention my parents are scientists, so my dad believes Jesus was just a politician (WHAT????) and my mom thinks it’s just culture. (Her family is Buddhist btw, just to clarify. That’s why it makes more sense with the culture stuff and whatnot.) I’m just atheist because I seriously have not time for religion just yet. Once I get settled down with my life is when I think I’ll decide what religion I’m going to be. Personally, I feel that religion is supposed to help you decide what your morals are in life, not to mention to provide you a community. Which I’ll keep in mind when I decide.

Anyway, sorry for digressing. So God isn’t really going to be God, but he’ll be a spiritual being that Yesung will relate to. And he will be interesting. I promise.
