Incheon, 16 January 2015
The beep of heartbeat monitor and soft buzz of air conditioner was the only noise that filled the ward. But if you listened carefully, you might hear faint gush of breaths belonged to the doe-eyed patient. Outside the window, snow was falling gingerly, gracing the night with gentle grace. If only the woman could open her eyes, she might marvel at the beautiful white blobs dancing through the cold air. The wintry scenery she loved so much.
A soft disturbance disrupted her steady rhythmical breathing. It gradually grew into a groan. The pair of eyelids that had been sessile for the last six months budged slightly.
“Uhhh…”
Groans after groans, the heavy eyelids cracked open slightly, revealing dull brown irises. The pupils contracted almost instantly upon receiving stimuli from lights after a very long time. She felt as if heavy steel blocks hanging upon her eyelids, but she managed to blink her eyes for a couple of times. Slowly but sure she started adapting to her newly revived vision.
Blink. Blink. The image of her surrounding started to sharpen.
Hospital?
“Mrs. Im, you’re awake at last.”
Yoona weakly shifted her head leftwards, finding a male nurse with a slight smile. She didn’t bother to reply that smile; even if she wanted to, she had no enough energy to do that.
“Please wait for a while, I’ll inform the doctor that you’ve been awake.”
The nurse bowed slightly before turning the door knob, ready to take his leave.
“…W-wait…”
The hoarse voiced croaked from her parched throat stopped him. With a mild concern in his eyes, he waited for what would the patient wanted to say or do next.
“…How l-long I…?”
“Six months, ma’am,” he answered immediately, knowing already what the woman would ask.
“What date is it…?”
“15 January 2015.”
Despite her lack of energy, her eyes went wide as they possibly could.
Five years? Five years has passed?

National Intelligent Service
Subject: Auxiliary Intelligence Personnel Program
This program is aimed to provide support in intelligence and surveillance for national defense and security. By mobilizing selected trained civilians, we hope to cover the extent that full-time agents might have no access to reach. The program will consist of:
- Intensive 10 month military training and 3 months drills of intelligence knowledge and its application in field.
- Execution of daily passive intelligence duty by auxiliary agents.
- Mobilization of auxiliary agents as reserved personnel and support force in military and non-military intelligence operations.
Auxiliary agents will be grouped into teams, each teams will be composed of six to seven personnel. Each team will be supervised by two NIS agents. Auxiliary agents are encouraged to have an active occupation beside their intelligence duty. Auxiliary agent also may choose to be a full-time NIS agent or resign from intelligence service at one point.
