Three and a half years ago...

"Bae, be serious." Amber wasn't hearing this from her best friend. She couldn't be.

     Iseul shook her short curls, looking at her. She wasn't kidding. "I'm not lying, Amber." Even though Amber knew from that tone of voice and that look, she didn't want to believe it. Not while they were only second years in high school.

"Bae..."

      "Amber." Iseul cut her off, sighing through her nose. She was now irritated. "I know it's shocking, and I know it's weird. But it doesn't make me any different, does it?"

"I--"

    "Am I still your Bae? Am I still that girl that pulled your pigtails in elementary school? Am I the girl that chopped off all her hair with you in middle school because that got gum stuck in it? Am I?"

Amber was quiet. She was right. Then again, Bae was always right. "Yeah..."

      A soft relieved sigh was barely heard from Iseul. "Good. Then I'll say it again and make it official, and then we can all move on with our lives, okay?"

A small nod came from Amber.

    "Amber, you're my best friend and you deserve to know everything," She began, "And I wanted to let you know I've come to a conclusion about myself. This doesn't change who I am, nor our relationship in any way."

She in a breath as she heard the last part, preparing herself once more.

                                                                     "Amber Josphine Liu, it's high time you know that I'm a lesbian."
