All Qian knew about her father was that he was a skilled and heroic huntsman who lived by the sword. On her seventh birthday, he had given her a set of bow and arrows that was carved from the rich bark of her favourite sakura tree. It was all that she had left in his memory.
When she is nine, China plunges into war with Britian and forces Qian and her mother to flee to the inner Shandong city of Jinan. As China's diplomatic strength weakens under the threat of foreign invaders, Qian once again weaves across the borders before finally settling in a quiet village not far the northern capital. There, she lives with her mother in a small house where conversations of the imperial palace were forbidden. She had never quite understood her mother’s discreet distaste in the royalty and although she yearns for Qingdao, the distant palace mysteriously burns a constant image in her thoughts.
Amidst the turmoil of war and crime that sent China's politics into a frenzy, Qian suddenly finds herself on a boat en route to Joseon Korea. Drifting farther away from the blissful childhood she desperately hoped to return, Qian loses sight of Qingdao and begins life in Joseon Seoul. With the help of Zi Tao, a young Chinese Confucian scholar on a mission in Korea, Qian blends in meticulously amongst the Koreans. A strange encounter one day with a mysterious young man by the name of Jong In later compels Qian to question whether he is following her for personal gain. Although the beauty of his jaw line and charming persona spoke otherwise, Qian hesitates to trust him despite strange fluttering feelings in her heart.
After a frightening run-in with a band of pirates who seem to be compelled to steal her bow and arrows, Qian is convinced Jong In’s appearance is no act of fate and that the hunting accessory hides many secrets. Ultimately, it will be the key to lead her home…
Once Upon A Woven Dream will sweep readers into the spell of a beautiful young woman’s adventure through the heart of China and Korea in the late 1850’s. It is a memoir of a beautiful a pair of unexpected lovers from different dynasties who overcome custom and war, weaving through the frost of winter with a love story that transcends through time.

Once Upon A Woven Dream takes place in both China and Korea during the Qing Dynasty where Korea's Joseon Dynasty serves as a tributary state. Torn by dynasties in a state of war and decline, the story will follow f(x) Victoria (as Song Qian) as she weaves her way through China before ending up in Korea where she befriends EXO Tao (as Huang Zi Tao). Through a series of events, she also meets EXO Kai (as Kim Jong In) and they become unexpected lovers. Supporting characters will be played by other members of f(x), EXO, and some SM Town artists. The individuals I have chosen for my story are artists of numerous talents who also happen to look really compatible together, as a pair and as a collective unit. I really like f(exo), especially Victoria and Kai in particular. I am very aware of Kai's adoration to Vic and am over the moon because the fluffy interactions, whether big or small, have been nothing but cute and squeal-worthy. I have been active on Tumblr under the glorious 'Kaitoria' tag. Shout out to the captain and Daimelias! ;)
Kai is 7 years junior to Vic but this story will disregard age for the pair, except for occasional circumstances where their age is mentioned only to mark a certain point in time.
Author's Note & Disclaimer: This plot borrows some true events from Chinese and Korean history, including light portrayals of real historical figures as a backdrop only and will not be entirely accurate. Time periods have been dramatically shortened and altered to fit into the storyline but will be borrowed for illustrative purposes. Mild scenes of violence and war will be rampant as a central theme, reader discretion is advised. The use of the individuals as characters is for entertainment purposes and true facts will be used to build characters. Any works in the story that are deemed similar to other works are purely coincidental. No copyright infringement intended. Only the writing is mine to claim.
Please note, I have written a previous incomplete fanfiction under the same title staring JYJ Jaejoong and OC, but I have lost it along with the disappearance of Winglin. This new Once Upon a Woven Dream will not be similar and will be a complete replacement.
