The People We Could Be
Description
"You know all those choices you've made in your life, and how they slowly brought you to this moment right now. A member of SNSD." Tiffany's long fingers tapped against the wooden railing, her eyes bright and alive. Jessica could only let out a soft hum and nod. "Imagine this Jessi, every single one of those decisions led off to another reality. Like... If you hadn't decided to became a trainee, you could be working in a coffee shop. You could be living an entirely different life. Thats how I like to think, every decision and choice I make is like a intersection, all leading to different states my life could be in. And all those states are alternate realities, existing right now. Maybe... Every time you die in a dream thats one of your alternate realities dying."
Jessica pursed her lips and in her cheeks, her eyes glancing at Tiffany's dark silhouette every now and then as she thought. "Do you think...." She began, letting out a soft sigh before taking the eye smiling girls hand in hers. "In every single one those alternate realities.. We still found each other?"
A soft giggle escaped Tiffanys lips and she turned to face Jessica, pressing a chaste kiss to her lips. "Of course, nothing in the world could stop me from finding you."
Foreword
“What is it about the moment you fall in love? How can such a small measure of time contain such enormity? I suddenly realize why people believe in déjà vu, why people believe they've lived past lives, because there is no way the years I've spent on this earth could possibly encapsulate what I'm feeling. The moment you fall in love feels like it has centuries behind it, generations—all of them rearranging themselves so that this precise, remarkable intersection could happen. In you heart, in your bones, no matter how silly you know it is, you feel that everything has been leading to this, all the secret arrows were pointing here, the universe and time itself crafted this long ago, and you are just now realizing it, you are now just arriving at the place you were always meant to be.” - Every Day, David Levithan.
A series of oneshots and drabbles that all have to do with the idea of past lives, alternate realities, pathways, intersections and the thought that every decision leads to this.
