“Oh, Taetae, you are up early.” The girl stopped from spreading the strawberry jam on her bread once she heard the coming footstep from her girlfriend.

“Yeah, Fany-ah. The hospital called and they told me about one of my patients condition, so I need to go and check on her.” Taeyeon told her proceeding to the girl behind the kitchen counter. Once Taeyeon has made to the island, she drew her girlfriend close into her embrace.

Tiffany leaned her back at Taeyeon’s body, letting the girl engulfed her into a warm which she has grown familiar with for the last three years. “What time are you coming home?”

The shorter girl kissed her shoulder affectionately while thinking. “Hm, I don’t know but it’s best if you don’t wait up. I have the surgery for glaucoma in the afternoon and there are some appointments for consultation after that I have a meeting with eye surgery specialist in the evening.” She ended it with a heavy sigh.

“A pack schedule indeed, Dr. Kim.” She put down the well spreaded bread on the plate, she cleaned her hand with the new wet tissue before cup a hand on her girlfriend cheek. “Don’t complain, it’s your job to help people.”

“I know. I’m not complaining, I just heaved a sigh for speaking long sentences.” Tiffany chuckled at her self-defense.

“C’mon, let’s eat.” Taeyeon obediently complied taking a seat opposite the girl. “Taeyeon-ah.” The girl called after sometime of silence. Taeyeon hummed which Tiffany hesitantly continued. “Uhm, my mom and dad, they’ll be in town this Saturday. I was wondering if you could spare some time to meet them, maybe dinner?”

Taeyeon stopped chewing her bread then gazed up at her girlfriend expectant eyes. “This Saturday?” Tiffany nodded confirming the question while Taeyeon quickly stole a glance at her watch which was saying ‘Thurs’. “I don’t know, Fany-ah. My schedule is dead dense. Surgeries are here and then and you know there are other two hospitals hiring me to be their eye surgery specialist and advisory.” Her girlfriend smiled sadly then nodded again.

“It’s okay, I understand. You are busy.”

The guilt was slowly consuming her when the sadness and disappointment written on her girlfriend’s face. She reached for Tiffany’s hand and grasped it in hers.

“I’m sorry, Fany-ah. Maybe next time.”

“It’s fine, Taeyeon. Really.” She said as she forced a small smile.
