“Can’t you see it?” A thin arm reached out, pointing at the sad looking winter tree.

“What?” Jimin’s eyes scanned it over.

“There, right there. On that branch, do you see it?”

“Yoongi, what am I looking for?”

“There! Jimin! The first blossom of spring, can’t you see it?” Yoongi pressed his face close to the glass window. A small glimmer of happiness shined in his eyes. He hadn’t smiled in weeks; his gaze was as cold as the late winter air, but not right now.

Jimin turned to Yoongi, focusing on every minute detail of his face, as if he was a piece of art, filled with eternal beauty that would never fade. His lower lip hung slightly below the other, leaving a thin line of space. The glass fogged up with his slow and relaxed breathing, clearing and fogging up again in a pulsing manner that mirrored the rise and fall of his chest. He hadn’t looked this calm in so long. He had never seemed so happy – so warm.

“Hyung,” Jimin spoke, turning his head back to the tree. He looked the branches over, hoping to find something, “it’s beautiful.”

Jimin’s heart sunk in his chest. Perhaps this was the hope that Yoongi needed. Perhaps it was the life that needed to reawaken in him. Perhaps this was the first sign of him reviving from his dormant and seemingly lifeless state. Perhaps it was nothing.

“Do you think spring will come early this year?” Yoongi cracked a smile, but in that smile was all the hope that his small body could hold.

“For you, Yoongi, just for you.”
