Welcome to charabanc tracks!

Hosted by ­forestwhisperz and inphnite, we’re calling out to all writers who’d like a little challenge (and perhaps some additional karma points) for the new year!

 

charabanc tracks is now closed.

An overall sketch

It’s simple. Each round will have a certain criterion and any author whose entry fulfils it will advance to the following round!

These authors will then send in another entry for the next round (which will have a different criterion), and the rounds will continue until a final winner emerges. No fixed number of rounds as of now. (:

That being said, little tokens may be given to an author or two along the way, should your entry not meet the criterion but still make it to either of the judges’ personal favourites <3
(we’d still have to let you go though, sorry!)

Now for the part on bribery

The prize will start at 1000 karma points, and will increase gradually should we go beyond three rounds!

(finalists –to be announced– can request for a one-shot from either judge, but this is entirely optional since we can’t promise works that are done quickly or suit your liking, but we’ll definitely do our best!)

All participants are also entitled to feedback on your piece(s) if you’d like, but do give us some time to get back to you (:

What your piece needs

• A birthdate no earlier than the beginning of the round

• A completion date no later than the end of the round

• A link to charabanc tracks in the foreword/description

• A single chapter, nothing more

• Your own effort and love, of course

Wellll, we make exceptions (two for now)

1. Authors who cannot finish their pieces by the deadline can inform either of the judges (via pm) at least three days in advance to request an extension. To be granted on a case-by-case basis!

2. Each judge will have a special pass (we are humans, and hence are biased) which will allow an author of their choice to proceed to the next round, even if they fail to meet a particular criterion. To still preserve the essence of this contest, however, this pass can only be used once per judge throughout the entire competition!

General

• Beta-readers are allowed

• Co-authors are allowed as well, but if you win the prize will be split

• You may enter your story in other contests as you deem fit

• No rampant grammatical mistakes! We are both pretty sensitive to this so do take note

• No random insertion of Romanised Korean phrases either
  (minimal use if required; terms of address and names of places/food are alright though)

• PWP ( without plot) is not appreciated

• ’s fine, mpreg’s another matter though

• And ‘you’ stories don’t do it for us, unless they’re done tastefully

• Lastly, bashing of other works/authors may result in prejudice on our part

• Am not entirely comfortable with reading works about girlxgirl homoual relationships, but I’ll remain open-minded!

• Dark stories and bleeding angst can be totally fine but I don’t really take well to too much gore and horror :x
