“Buckle up,” he said with eyes full of guilt and coldness mixed together. I wasn’t insensitive nor am I dense yet I have no complete wonder about what’s happening so I simply followed what he had instructed me. He fasten the speed of our car as if we’re about to fly and dangerously stopped with a perfect drift in front our hide-out.

“I’ll be back, stay with them in the meanwhile.” He said without making any eye contact, I nodded and went out of his car and not so soon, he came roaring once more at the speed of light. “Take care, I love you.” I whispered to myself before I ran inside. 

“Is that Ivory?” I heard some of them whisper as I came inside. “Ivory?” Samantha, my past best friend asked as she slowly came in front of me. I nodded. “You’re back!” The whole clan cheered and came hugging me, I flashed a small smile at all of them. “I did, the both of us.” I mumbled the last words. Their eyes rounded in horror and a deep silence ensued. Everyone froze in their positions. “You mean--- you guys are back as well?” George asked. I sighed.

“Yes. It won’t take long though. I know this relationship won’t last. We’ve been giving importance only to our friendship and no other deeper feelings, you all know us both.” I explained that made them all nod in union. “Err, you guys can talk or whatever you guys wanted to do. I won’t mind, I’m too tired to give a .” I said and went straight upstairs to Zeno’s room which is mine as well.

It has been a long time since I last went inside of his--- our room. It felt surreal, I mean, years have passed since we last visit. Though, the room still looked the same. Just how both of us loved it.

Before I even continue to blab about nonsense s, let me introduce myself first and what’s between with Zeno and me.

I’m Ivory, and yes I was named after the word Ivory which is a hard, white material, derived from the tusks and teeth of animals, that is used in art or manufacturing.

I was born to be with Zeno which is currently my so-called-boyfriend. Yes, I do love him not just as friends but affection even. Though I can’t help to secretly abhor how my love cannot be returned back to me just as how I wanted it to be.

It’s unrequited.

There’s nothing to mourn about though, I realized that maybe this is better and the best way is to move on. This nonsense relationship we have right now won’t last and we don’t even know how it started. The feeling’s one-sided yet he insisted me to be his girlfriend. We’re inseparable.

Zeno was named after the name of two philosophers that has a muscular dynamism that's lightened by its cheerful final vowel, resulting in a kind of offbeat sci-fi feel.

Don’t ask me why I know so much about him, we grew up together, that’s why.

As for our living, it’s quite unusual. Both of us were the clan’s leader. We do illegal things, all of us are rebels.

We handle a society for a person; that lacks attention, love and wants to give out revenge and searches for vengeance.
