Cliché

           Yuri liked a lot of things.  She likes the summer heat and the flowers in spring.  She likes the smell of her books, new and old, and the smell of the ground after the rain.  She dislikes a lot of things, too.  She doesn’t like hair and how nasal her voice sounds.  She doesn’t like the old songs her mother keeps playing when she’s home every Sundays.  She doesn’t like clichés and that’s why she doesn’t like Yunho.  Jung Yunho.

            He is her brother’s best friend.  The two have been friends longer than she could remember.  He practically grew up with him around.  He even eats breakfast at their home.  He has the other brother that she didn’t want.  It doesn’t help that he looks much like her and her brother as well.  Yunho is the kind of guy who’s popular among a lot of people.  He’s good-looking, kind of smart and good in sports he is in.  He is nice to everyone but to her.  But there would be times when he would act like he is her brother which she hates.   

            But most of all, she dislikes Yunho because she thinks she likes him more than the things she dislikes him for.  She dislikes how she always knows when he’s around and how her heart beats erratically when he says good things about her which is very seldom, thank goodness.

            She doesn’t like feeling this way about him.  She couldn’t even imagine herself with him or him liking her back.  That thought depresses the hell out of her whenever it comes up. 

            It’s not like she doesn’t think that she’d not good enough for him either… it’s just that it’s Jung Yunho.  What the hell?!

            And so she tries hard not to like him.
