Prologue

Foreword

"Dammit, Jaejoong... stop saying that! You're beautiful, I promise. Please just trust me." Yunho pleaded, rolling his eyes and slapping his hand against his forehead. He couldn't understand how a boy so gorgeous could call himself ugly. It didn't make any sense, how could Jaejoong possibly see anything other than stunning when he looked in the mirror?

"But, Yunnie..."

"No. Stop or I'm hanging up on you. I mean it." Yunho grumbled, sighing and laying his head back on the pillow. "You're being stupid."

"I'm sorry," The blonde boys voice was small and he sounded defeated. "I'm sorry, don't hang up..."

"Jaejoong-ah, I won't if you listen to me,"

"I'm sorry, I just-"

"Say you're beautiful." Yunho interrupted him.

"...what? Yunho, no... I just want-"

Yunho groaned. "Say it. Now. Tell me right now that you are beautiful."

After a long pause, Jaejoong sighed dramatically. "Yunnie..."

Yunho didn't respond, only the sound of his breathing informed Jaejoong that he hadn't actually hung up already.

"Fine..." Jaejoong frowned, and then smiled, and with giggle said, "you are beautiful." The older of the two felt victorious. He laughed, joyful over his win, but his grin faded after only a moment when Yunho growled in annoyance and threatened again to hang up the phone call.

"Say it, Jaejoong."

Again the blonde boy sighed, less dramatically this time and cleared his throat. "Yunho, you're so mean... I'm... I'm beautiful, okay?"

A cheesy grin plastered the handsome boys face within seconds. Yunho laughed in agreement. "You're what, BooJae?"

"Shut up, Yunho. You heard me."

"Say it again, I didn't hear you. There was... static."

Jaejoong rolled his eyes, but an amused smile graced his cherry red lips. "Liar... you lie to me."

"No lies, Joongie baby. Say it again."

"Aish..." Jaejoong didn't want to, but he had already lost the battle. There was no point in holding it back anymore. Yunho won fair and square... except not because he was a cheater. "Yunho, I'm beautiful."

"Awwwwww," Yunho cooed, chuckling and smiling so hard his cheeks hurt. "Was that so hard, Kim Jaejoong? You know you're freaking gorgeous, don't be such a jerk to yourself." The long limbed teenager stretched his arms and legs out as far as they would reach across the span of his bed, his legs easily exceeding the edge. He groaned heavily into the phone and then chuckled lowly again. "I love you."

"Yunnie, you're so Bi Polar." Jaejoong commented, smiling and giggling at the offended scoff he got as a reply. "You know it's true!"

"Shut up..." Yunho whined. He wished Jaejoong could see him pout. Sometimes he wished Jaejoong could always see him instead of just being able to hear his voice. There was the option to webcam, but Jaejoong's laptop was broken so... never mind. All Yunho had was pictures of Jaejoong. Pictures he had sent him. Pictures he'd seen of him from the older boys friends. But that was all, nothing more and it was starting to get a little bit depressing. Maybe he was Bi Polar or something, because now he felt like crying. "Jaejoongie..."

"Awe, sweetheart... I was kidding. Are you okay?" Jaejoong creased his eyebrows, frowning and adjusting the phone closer to his ear so he could hear better. "I'm sorry."

"Baby, it's not that..." Yunho sighed. "When are you getting your laptop fixed?"

Jaejoong widened his eyes. What a change of subjects. "Uh... soon?" He felt a pang of guilt poke at his heart. He had been telling Yunho forever that he would get his laptop fixed 'as soon as possible'. That was months ago, and he hadn't done anything to make it better. The blonde boy felt really bad now, because all he could think about was how much it would mean to Yunho if they could talk on webcam.

But Jaejoong was scared. He didn't want Yunho to see him on webcam, to actually see him talking and moving around... almost as if they were together. It was stupid, after all the time he'd spent day dreaming of them being together he was scared of it. But the skinny teenager was afraid he would somehow make himself look stupid and then Yunho wouldn't like him anymore, and Jaejoong couldn't possibly live without the taller boy in his life.

"You've been saying that for the past couple of months. When are you getting it fixed, Joongie?" Yunho frowned.

Jaejoong cringed. He closed his eyes and sighed, really deeply. "I'm sorry, Yunnie. I'll talk to my mom about it tomorrow, I promise. I'll get it fixed, soon. I mean it this time." Jaejoong felt like a horrible person.

A small smile pried at Yunho's lips. "Jaejoong-ah, you know I'll love you no matter what, right?" He could hear the pain in Jaejoong's voice and he knew there were more problems than just the laptop being broken. "I love you with my whole heart. I think you're beautiful, I promise."

"I-I know," Jaejoong said meekly, but Yunho could hear his doubt.

"Why don't you believe me?"

"I do," Jaejoong squeaked, pouting. That was something he wouldn't want Yunho to see on webcam.

Yunho sighed. "Don't lie to me, I know you haven't fixed your computer yet because you're afraid to webcam with me. You think I won't like you, Jaejoong. I know you. That is exactly what you are thinking, you pabo." He was developing a headache, but that was nothing new dealing with Jaejoong.

The blonde boy kept silent.

"Uh huh," Yunho groaned. "I know I'm right, and you know it, too."

"Yunnie," Jaejoong began to whine. He didn't know what he could say to Yunho to convince him that the reason he hadn't fixed his laptop yet wasn't because he didn't want Yunho to see him, but because... well, because of something else. But Jaejoong couldn't lie, especially when Yunho was so right. "I'm sorry... I don't think you'll like me anymore if you see me on webcam."

"I know!" Yunho chimed. "I know that's what you think and you think that because you're a pabo." The tan boy smirked.

"You're... you're a pabo!" Jaejoong retorted, obviously offended. It only made Yunho more satisfied with his name calling though, and Jaejoong deflated in his defeat. "I hate you, you jerk." He pouted.

"Awe," Yunho chuckled. "Joongie is soooo cute, and so, so beautiful."

Jaejoong humphed and Yunho laughed at him again. "Jerk."

"Awe, Jaejoongie baby?"

"Mhm?" Jaejoong smiled.

"Get your laptop fixed." Yunho glared, hoping Jaejoong could just feel it through the phone.

Yoochun tossed a green apple between his hands, listening only partially to Jaejoong ranting on and on about how damn cute Yunho was and hoping that soon the lines would go down so he could get some freaking lunch. School . He was annoyed, but he didn't want to show it. Jaejoong seemed happier than he had been in a while and Yoochun didn't want to be an and ruin it for him.

The skinny kid watched his best friend babble and he could see the spark in his eye as he told Yoochun all the glorious things Yunho had told him the previous night when they had talked for hours over the phone. He made Yunho sound like a hero, but Yoochun was still worried. Jaejoong had never actually met the boy, what if he wasn't who he said he was? He was a stranger after all.

Yoochun shook his head, pushing that thought away and standing up in his chair so fast Jaejoong looked up at him in fearful surprise. "Sorry, Jae. I'm going to go get lunch."

Jaejoong only smiled and nodded, looking down at his notebook on the lunch table as Yoochun scurried away. With his smile remaining, the blonde boy scribbled Yunho's name across the top of his paper and enclosed it in an uneven heart. Jaejoong set down his pen and fished out his cell phone from his pocket, checking for a new message. His heart hurt a little when he didn't find one, but he didn't let it discourage him from the task he had set out to do.

With the soft smile still gracing his lips, Jaejoong typed a short message to Yunho and pushed his phone back into his pocket. He felt warmth in his heart and all he wanted to do was be with his Yunho.

~

Yunho groaned, stretching to wake himself up. His blanket fell over the side of the bed and he cursed at it, yawning as he did so. Yunho reached for his phone, something that had become instinct, and prepared in his head the charming good morning he would send Jaejoong to make the pretty boys heart melt when he read it, but he was surprised to see he had a new message.

Yunho opened it and felt his own heart turn into a puddle of goo.

'I miss you so much. :) Yunnie, I love you. You mean everything to me. I won't ever let go of you, I promise. I... I need you. You're so cute :")'

Jaejoong was the best thing that had ever happened to him.
