SHE- Because her life is a book with not enough pages for happy ending. So, she keep trying to remind herself, that she's not a princess and love only exists in fairytales...Because she's aware that real life's nasty. It's cruel. It doesn't care about heroes and happy endings and the way things should be. In real life, bad things happen. People die. Fights are lost. Evil often wins.

BUT IF ONLY HAPPY EVER AFTER DID EXIST...

HE- Believes deeply that happily ever after is possible. For him, just because this isn't a fairy tale world doesn't mean people can't live happily ever after. Who cares if people say life isn't a fairytale. He can at least pretend like it is. So he clings to his fairy tales until the price for believing them becomes too high.

Maybe, it's not about the HAPPY ENDING. Maybe, it's about the STORY.
