When deities roam the earth, they left more than their offspring behind. Each of their offspring inherited their deity parent’s powers; however, not all offspring shows equal affinity for them. Each baby inherits the same amount of gift. It is their affinity of their gift that determines how much of that power they can wield. For example, some offspring of Zeus (King of Olympus, God of sky and thunder in Greek mythology) can create a thunderstorm. Some can barely power a light bulb. Their intelligence, which also varies, usually exceeds normal humans. These offspring are known as the Feirers. Normal humans are known as Cyphers. Due to their supernatural abilities, stronger Feirers often ended up as people leaders. In the world now, fewer and fewer deities roam the earth. Technology has reduced some weaker Feirers with redundant powers to being less significant in a community. No matter, the blood of the deities runs deep in the veins of Feirers. One would think that Feirers would abuse their power to control Cyphers. This is never the case. Their powers came from their deity ancestors, who, ultimately, are like gods and goddesses. Rogue Feirers may appear from time to time, but very rarely will their appearance cause a big problem.

Today, Feirers and Cyphers live happily together. In cases when a Feirer and a Cypher marry, their children will be gifted with power. Even so, they may not necessary have the affinity to wield their gifts. For this reason, these mix children are allowed to attend a Feirer Academy where they train with pure blood Feirers in case they do have the affinity to wield their gifts. The affinity of a Feirer usually begins to manifest when they are 5 years old and grew as they grew older, until they have reached their Adult stage, on their twentieth birthday. For mix children, they are allowed to choose to attend a Feirer Academy when they are five, which is when their affinity for their power usually began to show. Mix children usually are able to manifest their ability at a later age compared to Feirers, but usually before they are ten years old. Some shows their affinity at five, just like any Feirer. If they do have the affinity for their gifts, they will be officially known as Feirers and are required to complete their studies in a Feirer Academy. Otherwise, they are required to transfer to a Cypher Academy and will officially be a Cypher. Exceptions are made if a Feirer only has very weak affinities, no matter if they are born in a pure or mix family, they can request to be transferred to a Cypher Academy, if they wish. Similarly, if a mix child who has already transferred to a Cypher Academy but began manifesting their ability after ten, which is very rare, they will be required to transfer to a Feirer Academy.

People are considered an Adult when they turn twenty. For Cyphers, this is merely an age, nothing that special. For Feirers, however, their twentieth birthday is the day their power stabilises and will not grow anymore stronger. It is also the day they receive a permanent tattoo on their body, which could be a logo that signifies either their power or their deity ancestors. While the design of the tattoos varies, it is not rare for different people to have similar looking tattoos. Even then, they are required to complete their year of studies along with their peers until graduation.

Cyphers are usually scholars as that is the focus of Cypher Academies. Feirer Academies focuses more on power control based on ability. Scholarly education in Feirer Academies is arranged based on age, just like Cypher Academies. While Cyphers are encouraged to join as many student body clubs and societies as they like, Feirers occupies their after school hours with power control sessions, arranged based on their level of affinity. The year of study in both types of academies are the same, they are referred according to the age of the students. The first year of academy education starts at Year Five and graduating year would be Year Twenty. Pre-Academy educations are available for children before five and Feirers and Cyphers attend them together. Post Academy, both Feirers and Cyphers can choose to advance to a University, after graduation at twenty years old. Admission to University is highly selective. In a university, however, there is no Feirer/Cypher split. Everyone receive the same education, as the powers of Feirers usually stabilise when they are Adults and will not grow any stronger. Same goes for life in society after education. Workplaces do not discriminate, though Feirers usually advance in a career most suited to their abilities. For instance, you can always find descendants of Guan Yu (Chinese general during the Three Kingdom period, known for his loyalty and righteousness) in law firms and as judges.
