From the start, she knew that their relationship wasn’t meant to be.

This love wasn’t real. This love was still one-sided love, after all. After all these gruesome years of endurance she walked by. The man wouldn’t love her back. The ghost from his past still lingering in the back of his mind. And she also knew that she was competing with a mere shadow of a memory.

Yet she still couldn’t win the battle.

It was too late to turn back even when she gave up.  So she stayed. So she kept the pain inside. For her, just to be close to him was enough. She wouldn’t demand more. Just by looking at his beautiful face and breathe in his fresh scent, she would live and carry on.  

Pretty much, it’s only her who kept the rope tight. She’s the only one who tried to row their boat and make sure it's still sailing. She didn’t mind it, really.  As long as he remains at her side, it's okay with her.
