Although we had almost four months to mentally prepare for what was about to happen, it still hit me like a tidal wave.
As soon as our boss dropped the bomb about us dating, was going down.

Our social accounts were flooded instantly with predictable posts about our "relationship", most of them full of harsh, mean words.
Mixed beneath them were some encouraging ones, but the others clearly drowned them.

I looked over to Taeyeon, who was sitting next to me, and saw that her face was adorned with a relieved looking expression.

For her, it made everything easier. She could handle it, because now she could go home and embrace the person she was in love with. Those two could openly continue their fanservice, because now she was "dating".

But it was a lie, a huge one on top of that.

Still, Baekhyun couldn't change it anymore, the damage had been done.

And although Taeyeon could now be happy, he couldn't.

He also highly doubted that he ever would be.

At least she was content and had what she wanted.

The thing that Baekhyun desired the most, had slowly begun to slip out of his hands since he started all of this.
