LOVERS

   As the sun shines so brightly and a new day is just about to welcome her, Gui gui woke up to prepare for her coming back to school in ChineseCultureUniversityafter their Christmas vacation.

 

“Wow, you’re very early, you’re very excited huh? Then later on you will be lazy getting up early,” Mrs. Wu said to her daughter.

“Mom?!” Gui gui said as she combed her hair, waiting for her best friend Aaron.

“Why? You’re really like that since you were a kid. You know I’m your mother so I know you better than anyone else,” Mrs. Wu said.

“Yes I know but I’ve changed now, you know, teenagers,” Gui gui said.

“Teenagers, teenagers… Time for love and romantic relationships,” Mrs. Wu said.

“Mom, I don’t have yet,” Gui gui explained.

“How about Aaron? Hmm… I like him for you,” Mrs. Wu teased.

“We’re just friends, I mean best friends,” Gui gui explained.

“But BEST FRIENDS may become LOVERS too,” Mrs. Wu teased.

“Hmm… Where are Xiao Gui and Mei Mei?” Gui gui asked referring to her cousins who stayed in their house to work.

“They already go; your cousins are very hardworking right?” Mrs. Wu said.

“Yep, don’t worry I will be responsible and hardworking too someday,” Gui gui said.

“Don’t promise, just do it do your best study hard,” Mrs. Wu said.

“Okay, okay,” Gui gui said.

“Is your boyfriend will fetch you?” Mrs. Wu teased.

“BOYFRIEND?” Gui gui asked not knowing that Aaron is already there, eavesdropping.

“Aaron,” Mrs. Wu said.

“He’s not my boyfriend,” Gui gui said.

 

Aaron suddenly appeared...

“Oh, here’s your boyfriend,” Mrs. Wu teased.

“Mom stop teasing us?!” Gui gui said.

“Good morning Auntie,” Aaron greeted.

“Good morning,” Mrs. Wu greeted back.

 “Bye Mom,” Gui gui said as she kissed her mom.

“Bye Aunt,” Aaron said.

“Bye LOVERS,” Mrs. Wu teased.

 

 

   As they walked to the school, silence filled between them.

“Your Mom never changed, she’s still teasing us LOVERS but in fact were just best friend,” Aaron said, trying to break the silence.

“Ahh, yes… She just cannot accept that were really best friend, Gui gui said.

“Why she cannot accept it?” Aaron asked.

“It’s because she likes you to be my Boyfriend,” Gui gui said.

“Your mother likes but you don’t like,” Aaron whispered.

“Are you saying something?” Gui gui asked.

“Nothing,” Aaron said as he goes ahead from Gui gui.

 

   As they passed through the gate of their school, they saw Selina, Jiro, Calvin, Wu Chun, Angela, Hebe and Xiao Xun in the bench that served as their hang out place.

 

“Hey, the LOVERS are there,” Jiro shouted.

“How many times I will tell you that don’t ever call us LOVERS,” Gui gui said then all of them laughed.

“Be used to it,” Calvin said then Aaron smirked.

 “Why are you smirking?” Wu Chun asked

“Aiyee… You liked it when we’re teasing you LOVERS, right?” Angela asked.

“No, it’s not like that,” Aaron said.

 

Calvin noticed that Hebe was quiet.

“Why are you so quiet?” Calvin asked to Hebe as he put his arms over the shoulders of Hebe.

“Ahh…” Hebe said in surprised.

“Are you out of your mind?” Selena asked.

“Day dreaming?” Gui gui asked.

Hebe just smiled.

“Hey what’s wrong with you? First day of class then you’re not chatting and laughing with us,” Xiao Xun said.

“I’m just not feeling well,” Hebe replied.

“Do you want me to accompany you in the clinic?” Calvin offered.

“No, I’m okay,” Hebe refused.

“Are you sure?” Calvin asked.

“Yes,” Hebe said as she nodded.

 

Their conversation was interrupted when the bell rung. Then they all proceed to their classroom.

 

“Good morning class,” Their teacher greeted.

“Good morning teacher,” the class greeted.

“How’s your Christmas vacation?” their teacher asked.

“Great,” the class replied.

“Where’s Mr. Wang Zi?” their teacher asked referring to the transferee student.

“Sorry I’m late,” a cute guy said as he entered the classroom.

“Oh my gosh, he’s cute,” the girls said.

“Perfect timing Mr. Wang Zi, choose your seat now” their teacher said.

“Hey sit here,” Hebe said as she raised her hand.

“Are you relative?” their teacher asked.

“We’re cousins,” Hebe said.

“Okay,” their teacher said.

 

“Okay class since I noticed that you don’t have energy for your first class, I will group you into pairs and the instruction is: you are going to discuss the likes and dislikes of your partner for you to get to know them much better and the deadline is on Wednesday,” their teacher said.

“These are the pairs: Calvin and Xiao Xun, Jiro Wang and Selina Jen, Wu Chun and Angela Zhang, Hebe Tian and Aaron Yan, Gui gui and Wang Zi, etc.” their teacher added.

“Gui gui?” Wang Zi asked to Hebe.

“C’mon,” Hebe said to Wang Zi as she pulled him.

“Gui, this is Wang Zi, my cousin and your partner,” Hebe introduced.

“Hi,” Wang Zi greeted as he bowed down his head.

“Hi,” Gui gui also greeted.

“Oh my gosh, he’s very cute,” Gui gui thought.

Hey, I’m Jiro,” Jiro introduced himself as he led his hand for a shake hand.

“Wang Zi,” Wang Zi said.

“Calvin,” Calvin said.

“Wu Chun,” Wu chun said.

“Selena,” Selena said.

“Angela,” Angela said.

“Aaron,” Aaron said.

When Wang Zi heard the name “Aaron” he looked at Hebe because he knew that Hebe loves Aaron.

Hebe just grinned.

“Xiao Xun,” Xiao Xun said.

“Wow, she’s gorgeous,” Wang Zi thought.

“Wow he’s cute, Xiao Xun thought.

“Welcome in ChineseCultureUniversity,” they said.

“Thank you,” Wang Zi said.

“So, how can we discuss it as a group?” Jiro asked.

“Mr. Jiro Wang? What is the instruction?” their teacher asked.

“We will discuss it as a pair, sorry,” Jiro replied.

 “C’mon Selena lets discuss it now,” Jiro said as he pull Selena.

 “C’mon,” they all go to their sits to discuss it but Gui gui just stay there with Wang Zi.

“So how can we start then?” Wang Zi asked.

“Hmm, my real name is Wu Ying Jie, my birthday is on August 11, Im 17 yrs. Old,” Gui gui started.

“Okay, my real name is Qui Sheng Yi, my birthday is on April 14, and I’m already 18 yrs old.” Wang Zi said.

“Hmm… What else?” Gui gui asked.

 

“Class can I have your attention for a while? After knowing each other you are going to write your partners’ biography on a white cartolina, this game will help you to know how to construct a biography for our first lesson” their teacher said.

“Oh my gosh, how can we do it?” Gui gui asked.

“I don’t know,” Wang Zi said.

 

 

After a few minutes, the bell rang.

“Class dismissed,” their teacher said.

“C’mon let’s go now in the canteen,” Jiro said.

“Wang Zi, c’mon join us,” Calvin said.

“Okay, Thanks,” Wang Zi replied.

 

They were about to go when Gui gui realized that Aaron was not there.

“Hey wait, where’s Aaron?” Gui gui asked.

“Aiyee… Finding for her boyfriend,” They all teased except Wang Zi because he doesn’t know that Aaron and Gui gui are teased as Lovers.

“Best friend! Not Boyfriend!” Gui gui shouted.

They all laughed.

“Maybe he’s in the music room,” Wu Chun said.

“Ahh… Okay, go ahead now, I’m not hungry,” Gui gui said.

“Aiyee, she will find Aaron, hey don’t do any miracle there huh?” Jiro said.

“CRAZY!!!” Gui gui shouted as she go.
