Will he ever be able to forgive you for hurting him?
Foreword
You do one last walk through of the small apartment you shared with him and wipe away the tears you tried so hard not to cry. You start off in the tiny bedroom that held so many loving memories. You softly run your fingers along the bed where you slept with him. Images of the two of you laughing and playing on that bed ran through your mind along with the images of your body intertwined with his sweaty body and you close your eyes as you remember the sounds he made. You tear yourself away from the bed and slowly make your way to the row of picture frames on the windowsill. You run your fingers along the edges of all of them and you let the memories invade your mind. The day the both of you graduated from High School, the day he debuted in Big Bang. Your fingers linger on the last picture of the two of you smiling. That picture was taken on one of the happiest days of your life. You walk around to the now half empty dresser and gently graze your finger tips on his neatly aligned jewelry. You run your fingers through the closet and listen to the clink of the metal hangers before silently making your way down the hall into the living room and kitchen.
You slowly turn around once before your gaze lands on the envelope sitting alone on the dining room table. You make your way back to the table and you pick it up, you don’t open it because you already know what it says because you were the one who wrote the letter. You gently set the goodbye note back onto the table before walking away from it. You take another sad look around at the small apartment you shared with him and you remember the first day the two of you moved in after you had finally turned nineteen, much to both of your parent’s protest. You guys are too young, that’s what they said, but neither of you listened to their objections. You smile as you remember how happy the both of you been on moving day. Regardless of their disapproval of you and him living together, both of your parents helped with the move. That night, you and him sat on the floor among the scattered open boxes and had your first of many meals in that tiny apartment. That was a little more than a year ago. How time flies. The two of you were fools in love.
You picked up your purse and the final suitcase before bidding goodbye to the tiny apartment and the many memories it held. You lock the door and rapidly make your way down the hall to the waiting elevator and down to the main lobby of the apartment building. You quietly make your way to your designated mailbox and slip your copy of the apartment key into the slot and listen to it clink loudly before making your way out of the building. Throwing the last suitcase into the trunk of your car, you slide into the driver side seat and slip on your sunglasses in attempt to hide the tears that were silently streaming down your cheeks. You hear the engine of your car come to life and you navigate your way through the busy streets of Seoul. You listen half heartedly to the radio and you still when you hear the DJ introduce the next song. The piano notes echo hauntingly in your car and then you hear his voice serenade you.
A day without you is too long. I pray that I may please forget you.
Oh the irony of it all.
You drive yourself to your designation and check in your bags and diligently wait for the lady to announce when your plane would finally depart. You attempt to ignore the frantic calls being made to your cell phone and finally shut off the phone after listening to the voicemails he has left for you, in each of them you hear him plead with you not to leave and apologizing for any mistakes he’s made. You let out a sigh of relief when you hear the announcement that your plane would be departing soon and you are last in line to board. You stiffened and close your eyes when you hear his voice calling your name desperately from somewhere behind you. You refuse to turn around and face him, because you are a coward and you knew that if you did. You would’ve changed your mind and stayed, but there was no turning back. You already said your goodbyes. You had dreams you needed to achieve and he had a life he had to lead. So you closed the door to your memories with him and boarded the plane.
You gently touch the ring on your finger and watch the plane lift off. You silently say goodbye to the city below you and everyone important to you and then you prayed. You pray that one day he would be able to forgive you for your selfishness.
Ok...so I will not be working on this one either until I finish Broken. So please continue to be patient. Thank you so much!
