Lee Min Ho  had everything in life: a wealthy family, beauty and intelligence. He would inherit the immense business empire run by his father. But all that changed when he met Yoon Eun Hye at age 22, one of the most gossiped women of high society in Seoul. At age 25, she had two marriages with men much older than her, both deceased, who had left her huge riches. She was known for being a gold digger and for her numerous affairs. Despite all, his sister and his brother in law decide to give him the possibility to work in the family company. In his meaningless life, however, he runs into a girl, Park Shin Hye,  whose innocence and beauty affect him deeply, placing him in front of a choice: let go of that girl, or drag her into his damn life, knowing that he will not be able to give her nothing more than suffering?
Park Shin Hye is the only daughter of Park Ho Jin, is a good girl, beautiful and smart. She is  a girl of high principles, who loves other and is committed to give a smile to anyone. In a word, virtuous and  devoted daughter. Nonetheless she has a strong personality when it comes to fight for what she believes is right. Her father seeing himself get old, and worried about the future of her daughter, decides to arrange an engagement with  Choi Young Do, the son of his business partner. Despite initially she did not agree, the love for her father led her to accept an engagement without love …  until the fancy dress party, organized to announce her engagement,  where she meets a mysterious man who makes her heart beat furiously.

LEE MIN HO

27 years old, he returned to Seoul almost three years ago after living in Paris. He had a troubled relationship with Yoon Eun Hye  that has completely emptied his soul. Despite continuing his path to perdition, he manages to regain a place in the family company, run by his brother in law  after the death of his father.

Intelligent, cold, manipulative, tormented, often animated by feelings of revenge that pours out of those around him. Sarcastic and headstrong.

PARK SHIN HYE

22, has lived a relatively quiet life, even though she lost her mother when she was a child. She attended college and looking to graduate in literature, she has refused to follow his father's footsteps and major in business. Her father, worried about her future, arranges an engagement, which she reluctantly agrees.

Intelligent, loving, devoted to others, stubborn and determined. Innocent and spontaneous, with a wry sense of humor, despite being aware of the cruelty of the world she is determined to tackle any obstacle with a smile.

Yoon Eun Hye

She had a difficult past, she growth in absolute poverty and because of her beauty she has succeeded  to win a place in high society inheriting all the fortune from her died husbands. At 25 she met Lee Min Ho with whom she had an affair. Her thirst for power led her to destroy everything. The only thing she have learned in life is to achieve her goals at the expense of anyone, use other for her own purposes, and especially not to love. Love makes weak.

30 years old, manipulative, spoiled, possessive, hedonistic, selfish, vain, cunning. What scares her the most is to return to the miserable life she led during her childhood, and especially lose the only thing that allowed her to get to the top: her beauty.

Lee Min Jung: 32 years old, sister of Lee Min Ho, married with Lee Byung Hun.

Chun Ho Jin as Park Ho Jin: Park Shin Hye's father and president of the company "Power House Construction".

Choi Young- Do: Choi Dong-Wook's son( business partner of Park Ho Jin). He is engaged  with PSH.

Lee Soon Jae: father of Lee Min Ho and Lee Min Jung. President of the famous hotels chain "Athena Royal Hotels". At his death he left the management of his empire to the husband of his daughter.
