Embers of the Heart

Description

You were like fire, giving me warmth when I was cold and light when I was stuck in the dark.

But I was too wrapped up in the comfort you gave me to realize that all this time you were burning me alive.

Foreword

Entering again for the Solstice Writing Contest:

Prompts used:

23. RED IS SUCH AN INTERESTING COLOR TO CORRELATE WITH EMOTION, BECAUSE IT'S ON BOTH ENDS OF THE SPECTRUM. ON ONE END YOU HAVE HAPPINESS, FALLING IN LOVE, INFATUATION WITH SOMEONE, PASSION, ALL THAT. ON THE OTHER END, YOU'VE GOT OBSESSION, JEALOUSY, DANGER, FEAR, ANGER AND FRUSTRATION. (TAYLOR SWIFT)

24. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS ETERNITY, BUT I'M STARTING TO BELIEVE THAT THE PAIN IN MY HEART WILL NEVER FADE.

35. EACH WINTER THE SNOW FALLS. EACH WINTER I THINK OF YOU.

And here I am with another contest entry :D

I just really enjoy these prompts and I couldn't stop myself.

If you haven't read my Zelo oneshot, "Tomorrow", get on that. Or not, whatever's cool with you.

Poster credits to _elevenelevens at Cyanide Postershop! Some of my angsty stories have her posters as well, so go check it out :3

TRIGGER WARNING: mentions of alcohol abuse, domestic abuse

If you aren't comfortable I suggest you find something else to read for your safety ^_^

Chapter 1: This was a excessively sorrowful fic. I hadn't expected it to be this way. I really thought that Hyunji would end up regretting loving Jongin & that she would hate him forever, but it's actually the opposite. I understand the ending as Jongin had been caught with the fire? Anyways, this was a easy read fic that can be read in such a short time, but us readers are able to understand the emotions and hurt that she went through. Only talented writers are able to make readers feel something heavy after reading a short passage. I really think you've nailed it here. Thank you for writing this fic & I wish you good luck on the contest :)

Chapter 1: Wow. This story was more intense than I thought it'd be. I imagined that their love would fade in a less serious way, so it really surprised me to see Jongin's sudden changes. I liked it nonetheless though. Great job!

Chapter 1: This was a beautiful story:):) I fell in love with it!! I'm usually not the type for these sad stories but it was just flawless!! And I agree with NEIBOURHOOD96, there should be a sequel:):)
