The two widely misunderstood geniuses pulled together by the invisible strings of the fate, set out on the journey of cloak and dagger to understand each other. Little did they knew that when the final countdown from the Puppeteer from Hell triggered, all lies revealed would throw them into a deadly race against time and death.

Living Lies = Kindaichi Hajime + Aoyama Sho + Lies + X

Introducing the Famous Detective...

Kindaichi Hajime (26 years old) Played By Yamada Ryosuke (Hey! Say! JUMP)

Kindaichi Hajime was once known to many as the young High School student who has solved mysteries which stumped the local Yokohama police force. As a result of it, he was known as a Genius Detective to everyone in the neighbourhood.

Just as how great power came with great responsibility, Kindaichi's fame grew to become a curse to his soul.

The 26 years old man hated the expectations which came with his name. Despite his greatness achieved at the young age, and the unbeatable high IQ of 180, Kindaichi Haijime was still very much the lazy high school boy at his core. But it seems that nobody saw that boy in him anymore. All they see is that great detective he was known to be and expected him to be the greatest detective in the whole Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department.

But it was easier said than done. Because he is considered a misfit by everyone else. Unlike the other elites in the Criminal Investigation Section Second Division, Kindaichi Hajime rose to the rank based on sheer talents instead of having the necessary qualification attained in schools. But the fact that he was the only high school graduate among those top university graduated colleagues of his, Kindaichi Hajime was never taken seriously by his fellow co-workers. Jokes that claimed of his successes were nothing more than sheer luck hurt his pride more than he would ever say.

Even though the Second Unit was nicknamed as the Misfit unit by many due to its nature of having the strangest characters working in the division, Kindaichi Hajime never truly managed to fit in them.

Noticing his growing weariness of living up to everyone's expectations, Kindaichi Hajime feared that he was slowly losing himself in the process and his passion to help people by solving mysteries. As a result of such a situation, he soon found himself to be reduced to changing partners on every case. But to his disappointment, he was unable to find someone who could understand and respect him for who he really was.

Not finding an answer to his question, Kindaichi Hajime chose to take a long leave of absence from work just as what he did when he graduated from High School, to find his place in this busy world. Little did Kindaichi knew his bicycle tour around Japan would bring him more than what he needed in a form of a Chibi Ace Profiler.

Introducing the Genius Crime Profiler ...

Aoyama Sho (24 years old) Played By Shida Mirai

As the other well-known genius, aside from Akagi Samon in Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department (TMPD) Forensic Science Institute Scientific Task-Force (S.T.), Aoyama Sho was equally stubborn and as socially inept as her team leader. While it was not communicated to Aoyama, the older genius was deeply troubled by the bad influence he had on her.

Despite her petite height and childishness, Aoyama Sho was known as the genius crime profiler who skipped grades and graduated from a Top American Ivy League University with a PhD in criminal psychology, S.T. Assistant Team Leader and youngest officer in the TMPD. But to the dismay of Leader Akagi Samon and Captain Yurine Tomohisa, the young profiler was also secretly nicknamed as the little monster by many in TMPD. Along with Akagi Samon, the widely named famous monster in TMPD, they formed the monster unit of TMPD and were said to be incapable of understanding emotions despite being geniuses.

Masking her emotions with acts of arrogance and rudeness and armed with her profiling knowledge, Aoyama Sho is known to be a master at pushing buttons of people and earning herself their anger and displease. While the young profiler appeared childish most of the time, it was questioned by ST Team Leader Akagi Samon and ST Commanding Officer Yurine Tomohisa that whether the order phobia act was a conditioned fear the young profiler has placed upon herself in her desire to escape from the world of authority and responsibility.

However, peeking occasionally beneath the child-like personality of Aoyama Sho, was a troubled soul who was trapped under her carefully laid layers of presentence.

Other Characters Include...

Takato Yoichi (33 years old) Played By Narimiya Hiroki

The self-claimed nemesis and evil twin of Kindaichi Hajime, he was also known by the name "The Puppeteer from Hell (Jigoku no Kugutsushi). Like Kindaichi, Takato was also extremely intelligent and the only son of Chikamiya Reiko, an internationally famous Magician. He enjoys designing the perfect crime and employing others to do his dirty jobs. However, Takato was also a cold-hearted puppeteer who tolerates no mistakes from anyone and would kill them whenever they failed.

Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department Forensic Science Institute Scientific TaskForce (S.T.) Members

The Scientific Task Force (S.T.) featured a team of five outstanding but eccentric researchers from the various departments within the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department's crime lab. These members were handpicked by Saegusa Toshiro, the Police Counsellor who was impressed by their abilities to solve crimes, unlike others. Despite their abilities, the members of the S.T. are strongly disliked by everyone in the TMPD due to the special rights are given to them. S.T. members were not given guns or considered a police department. But their ability to solve crimes at an alarming speed allowed their superiors to consider them as the number one specialist team in TMPD.

In the recent year, a young and upcoming Officer, Yurine Tomohisa was picked by Saegusa to oversee the team as their commanding officer. Despite being fairly normal when compared to the 5 talented S.T. members, Saegusa had chosen cheerful and likeable Yurine to guard the unfeeling team because of his warm personality and ability to affect Akagi Samon, the lone ranger in the team.

With the upcoming promotion of Yurine Tomohisa to a division head, his friend, Ikeda Sousuke, the youngest commander in the TMPD has taken over the reins as S.T. commanding officer.

Yamabuki Saizo - 45 years old (Acted by Miyake Hiroki)
S.T. Poison and Second Chemistry Expert. He was also the only one who could translate Kurosaki's non-speeches and worked perfectly with Kurosaki as his partner. However, Yamabuki was said to be suffering from insomnia as a result of his fear of death when sleeping. Hence, he had registered himself as a professional monk and would serve as S.T. main advisor on religions. The calming presence of Yamabuki had often helped the team to keep their cool when dealing with cases and would offer words of advice to all members when needed.

While Kurosaki was widely known as the S.T martial art expert, few knew that Kurosaki had respected and looked up to Yamabuki as his master.

Aoyama Sho - 24 years old (Acted by Shida Mirai)
S.T. Assistant Team Leader, Professional Handwriting Analysis, Polygraph and Profiling Expert and whatever areas which caught her interests. Aoyama Sho was known to be the youngest member in the TMPD and was chosen to be in S.T. since the young age of 21 years old. Rude, arrogant and have a great disregard for rules and orderly, the young profiler was said to be suffering from order phobia.

Akagi Samon - 31 years old (Acted by Fujiwara Tatsuya)
S.T. Team Leader, Forensic Expert and an allrounder genius with social phobia. Incredibly smart but terrible at expressing himself, Akagi Samon took his responsibility
as a member of S.T. very seriously and viewed crime-solving as his only mission in life. Every word which came out of him would offend almost everyone but those who knew him. This was because they knew that Akagi Samon often felt out of place surrounded by people who could not understand him and how others tend to judge him as though he was some kind of a monster. His throat-cutting remarks often seemed as his way to balance his insecurity around people.

The team leader would often claim to be a lonesome wolf and would carry out missions on his own. But to his great dismay, s and his partner--best-friend, Yurine Tomohisa thought otherwise of him. They could often see through his unwillingness to put any of s in danger due to his hidden protectiveness over them.

Yurine Tomohisa - 27 years old (Acted by Okada Masaki)
S.T. Commanding Officer but fondly nicknamed by Aoyama and the rest as Cap (the short form for Captain), was the only normal folk among the geniuses. Like all S.T. members, Yurine Tomohisa had a fear. His fear of imperfection and would drive him to write every detail no matter big or small into the notepad which he carried with him. At first glance, the weak minded Yurine was an eyesore in S.T. and appeared to be a weak commander. But his ability to care for others and easy acceptance of the eccentric S.T. members soon endeared him to them. Unlike others, the young officer respected s and thought of them as the best but sadly misunderstood talents in TMPD. Among all members, Yurine Tomohisa was closest to Akagi Samon, the impossible leader and viewed Aoyama Sho as his little advisor.

Unknown to many, Yurine Tomohisa was the only officer in S.T. who was permitted to hold a gun and was an Ace shooter who never miss.

Yuuki Midori - 30 years old (Acted by Ashina Sei)
The only S.T. Physics Expert with strong sense of hearing but suffered from Claustrophobia. Yuuki was also nicknamed as the human lie detector because of her ability to analyse the pitch and tone of a person and even detect the irregular of a person's heartbeat when lying using her super hearing. Along with Kurosaki's ability to smell the body chemical discharge of a nervous person when lying and Aoyama's profiling abilities, the three members were said to be the best lie detectors ever.

While aloof to most people, Yuuki respected and adored Aoyama Sho as the little sister she never had, hence she was often the one most in tuned to conflicting emotions of the young profiler.

Kurosaki Yuji - 28 years old (Acted by Kubota Masataka)
S.T. Chemistry and Martial Arts Expert, he was also known to have a strong sense of smell and phobia of sharp objects. Kurosaki was also the quietest member of the team who could only communicate with his partner, Yamabuki. But his unwillingness to speak out to others had never affected his ability to communicate with the rest of the members.

Being the only Martial Arts Expert in the team, Kurosaki saw himself as the one responsible for everybody's safety and tended to look out for all members. Under the strict command of Akagi Samon, Kurosaki was often seen casting a protective eye over the youngest and most reckless S.T. member, Aoyama Sho. A sensitive soul at heart, Kurosaki Yuji had a soft spot for the young profiler because he could see the unspoken pains in her eyes.

Shida Mirai (24 years old)
The sole heiress to her family business, the Shida Corps. Her identity and appearance were said to be a mystery to all and extremely intelligent. As the only child of the successful Shida power couple, the young heiress was often left alone with nannies, maids and teachers. The only time her parents would spend time with her was to bring her out to showcase to other families.

Due to her high intelligence, the young heiress was home-schooled to ensure that she was able to outperform children twice her age. But while her intelligent was a source of pride for her parents, it soon became a double-edged sword which tore her away from other children and resulted in their endless bullying whenever her parents brought her to any social events.

Being mocked, ridiculed and ignored by her peers and adults, the once warm and bubbly little girl grew up in silent and learned to pretend to fit in the world she felt alien in.

Miura Haruma (27 years old)
He was known as one of the top fighters on the streets of Tokyo, a hooligan who would never have to cross path with the rich until he was forced to escape from the police during one dark night. He made the decision to hide in the huge Shida mansion and thought that he would have gone unseen by people. But he was soon discovered in the deepest part of the garden by someone who would change his life.

When the young Shida heiress declared that she wanted a pet around and took the trouble to negotiate with her parents to bring him into the family and nursed him back to health. He had thought that it was just another decision made by a young heiress on whims and fancies and had resent her deeply for calling him her pet.

But when he witnessed the unhappiness and loneliness hiding beneath the proud little Miss Perfect act when he stayed with her, her proud presence ended up burrowed deep inside his heart quietly. It was the first time somebody protected and cared for him although the young heiress would deny when asked. But her actions were clear and he finally felt that he had a purpose staying with her.

In that one moment of enlightenment, he changed totally for one girl. He was still fiercely protective of his girl, but he began to smile, tease and live. One thing was clear to him, without Shida Mirai, he was a nobody. Hence, Miura Haruma took his responsibility to protect her very seriously. Unknowing to him, his excessive love and desire to be the perfect protector was slowly turning him into a method to hurt her more.

Hongō Kanata (27 years old)
When Hongo Kanata first met Shida Mirai, he hated her for a reason. She was bloody insufferable and infuriating. He was supposed to be the smartest student in Japan, and his examination marks were almost perfect. But when that girl turned up from nowhere to take one stupid examination to include herself in the national ranking, she ruined everything for him. Because she scored the perfect marks in the nationwide examination, and to add to insult, he was dethroned by a girl 3 years younger than him.

Her brand of unapologetic intelligence which made him angry in the first place soon won her his respect because it was one of the rare moments he felt that somebody understood him without him having to say it out. The young girl was in no way nice to him in her speech, but her willingness to listen to him and criticize him whenever he was wrong won her his mark of approval.

But when he observed how the young girl was often bullied by others because of her extreme intelligence and her stubbornness to stay silent about the situation, he realised that she was nowhere as nonchalant and brave as she presented herself to be. That silly little girl needed someone to protect her from the world and so he appointed himself to be that someone, her only match in intelligence.

Kamiki Ryunosuke (27 years old)

When they first met each other at the age of six years old during their family playdate, Kamiki Ryunosuke sneered at her childishness. How dare that silly little girl in pink named him Mikki over a stupid Mickey Mouse cap he was forced to wear! He hated all the other girls whom he had met but was always forced to act the part of a perfect little gentleman to every girl by his parents. Girls were nothing but cry-baby weaklings to him.

But he was also quick to note that the silly little girl had given him the brightest and most genuine smile he had ever seen. The way her big expressive eyes shone warmly into his heart made him remembered her among the many girls he was forced to meet since young. He liked how she was nothing like the other whinny chatty girls who would talk his ears off and had a strong but welcome glint in her eyes.

Because she was like no others, and he enjoyed the way she looked at him, he decided that she should belong to him alone. Her sincere and bright smiles were fewer as they grew older, but he would always ensure that they were only aimed at him because she was to be his fiancée.
