Chapter 70

Unexpected visitors came to the girls’ apartment. It’s seven o’clock in the morning and Seohyun continuously knocked on her unnies’ bedrooms until they finally wake up.

“Wae so early?” Yoona talked with her eyes closed.

Taeyeon hugged her pea plushie. “I was about to finish solving a Math equation on my dream but I heard maknae banging the door.”

Sooyoung came fully covered with a blanket. “Is it breakfast already?”

“Yah! Choi Sooyoung you forgot your roommate!” Yuri dragged the snoozing Jessica into the living room.

Tiffany headed straight in the bathroom to brush her teeth.

“Maknae won’t wake us up this early if it’s not important.” Hyoyeon thought. She knows her young roommate very well.

“Important? It’s not like our mothers will come here.” Sunny joked. “Seohyun won’t wake us up if they won’t be arriving within thirty minutes.” The short girl laughed.

Everybody became silent after they realized Sunny’s right.

Seohyun went out of her room. She came all-prepared and wore her specs. “Sooyoung-unnie’s mom called and said our moms will be here in thirty minutes! We need to prepare, unnies!”

The girls felt electrified, they cleaned their rooms and the whole house hurriedly. Some of them kept all the pictures of their boyfriends underneath their beds. They made sure everything was organized before they took a bath.

Seven old women came. “Our dear daughters, we’re here!” They were happy to see the girls healthy and well.

“Umma, what brings you here?” Sunny asked her mother.

“Oh, Soonkyu-ah, we just miss you.”

The SoShi girls bit their lips to refrain from giggling when they heard Mrs. Lee.

“It’s SUNNY, umma.” The short girl pouted.

Mrs. Lee touched her daughter’s cheek. “Arasso, Sunny it is.”

“I told your mothers how worried I am after watching Sooyeonie talk about her relationship with Jonghyun.” Mrs. Jung explained.

Jessica held the old lady’s hand. “Mom, I just did the right thing. You taught me to be true to myself and never lie.”

“Umma, please cook Kimchi stew for me.” Sooyoung talked to her mother in a girly manner.

“Ah, my little daughter, can’t you think of anything else but food?” Mrs. Choi held the tall girl’s shoulders. “Sooyoungie, when will you ever have a boyfriend?”

“I asked the same question to my Taeyeon.” Mrs. Kim quipped. “She’s not getting any younger and I’m worried that my wrinkles are starting to show.” The old woman patted Tiffany’s chin. “You too, Miyoungie, go have a boyfriend.”

The two girls just laughed it off.”Umma, you have no wrinkles yet! We promise to buy you cosmetics so it’ll never show up.”

Seohyun and Yuri kept quiet. They both know their mothers were not ready to let go of them especially with matters of the heart. Their mothers think they’re too young and they better focus on their career.

Hyoyeon’s mother thumbed her hair. “I won’t rush you out; there’s nothing bad about having a boyfriend but you need to be careful. My Hyoyeonie, you are free to do as you wish.”

“All of you must eat more. You must be tired going on schedules.” Mrs. Seo gently pinched her daughter’s cheek.

“Don’t forget about your beauty. We mothers took good care of you at first. Now, it’s about time to take charge of yourselves. Aigoo, you look like us.” Mrs. Kwon happily looked on their faces.

Mrs. Jung looked at Jessica with concerned eyes. “I hope nothing changes. Now everybody knows about your relationship. Your dad and I always think about you. He cried when he saw you on TV.”

The ice princess hugged her mother and softly spoke on her ear. “Don’t worry, Mom. Jonghyun and I are ready to face the consequences together.”

“You’re lucky.” Mrs. Choi tapped Mrs. Jung’s back. “Your eldest is a chaebol’s girlfriend. Sooyeon must’ve done good on her past life.”

Sooyoung grew jealous and gave her mother a back hug. “Umma, I’ve been a good girl on my past life too, right? I won’t be an idol if not.”

Mrs. Kwon pinched the shikshin’s cheek. “Aigoo, this child is so clever.”

“Don’t appreciate her too much, imo. She’ll brag it on our faces later on.” True enough, Yoona’s charms also appeal the ahjummas. Sooyoung mimicked an expression of a child who’s about to cry.

“Enough. Let’s just prepare something to eat.” Hyoyeon hates to see the younger members acting cute. Her mother held her back and told her to sit on the couch.

“You young ladies stay here. We’ll prepare the food.”

The SoShi girls are happy. They miss their mothers’ cooking so much.

“I hope it’s always like this.” Sunny smiled.

“Don’t worry, we’ll stay here for three days.” Mrs. Lee meant no joke.
