Foreword
"I can't love," I say as I play with the hem of my shirt.
"You can and you will," he say with more determination than I can ever muster. I shake my head and meet his eyes.
"You don't get it. I can't love. My heart won't let me." The last few words come out as a mutter though I'm pretty sure they have heard what I said.
"Your heart won't let you?" he asks with disbelief cleary written on his face. "Hyejeong, the only thing here that's not letting you fall in love is the wall you've built around you."
I look at him, unable to say anything. I've tried to tell him but no matter what I say, he won't understand. I heave a sigh as I close my eyes.
Why bother trying to explain? I think to myself. Nobody gets what I'm going through. Nobody knows what it's like to live with a disabled heart.
