Description
A threat that brought years of blood and took uncountable innocent lives away – that’s what Fenrir is in Odin descendants’ eyes. The Greyback that bit Tyr’s hand off and devoured the mighty Odin himself. Myths have it that the Supreme God cursed the creature to eternal life – continuous reincarnation, and at Vidar’s command, each generation of Odin’s offspring was to chase the monster and kill it before the day of Ragnarok’s feast.
As an aftermath of failing the request, Odin’s offspring was to die of frozen blood and fall at the hands of Hel, Goddess of Death, allowing themselves to turn into meaningless slaves, toys at the goddess’ mercy.
It is Baekhyun’s turn now to take his ancestors’ burden in his hands and free the world of the danger that awaits it.
Yet the encounter with the feared Greyback doesn’t leave him with an outcome to be proud of. Instead, it leaves Baekhyun with scars of guilt and wishes of yesterdays.
“I shall not fear a weathered moondog.”

Foreword
Baekhyun flinches.
“You have plenty of time to look at me in the daylight,” the hunter murmurs under his breath, obviously startling Jongdae who proceeds to pull his hand away as soon as he hears the other. There’s something inside Baekhyun that behaves weirdly though; something that moves fast and on its own and forces Baekhyun to grip on Jongdae’s wrist and guide his soft fingers back on top of his dark locks.
Fenrir sigh at that, perhaps in relief, and starts to relax under Baekhyun’s strong hold.
“What is time?” he whispers. “Time is relative. And yet,” his fingers tangle themselves in Baekhyun’s hair “I cherish every moment because life is short.”
Listening to the other’s words, Baekhyun soon enough asks himself what is life, after all? Has he ever lived before? What does it feel like to live?
All the answers that he can think of lead him to a single thought – he only has less than two weeks, if not just one, to make a decision he has never known he is required to make. And so, Baekhyun asks himself one more thing: would he rather die with a purpose or live with none?
“Life is short,” he repeats, giving Baekhyun a shimmering smile behind of which perhaps hide glistening tears “even for me who has lived so many.”
