Jaejoong raced into the hospital. His heart thumped with every step he took. Jaejoong arrived at the surgery room and skidded to a stop.

You were curled up against the wall on the ground with your face covered.

His face fell *Oh no.* He walked over and bent down in front of you. “~~~~~~.” Jaejoong whispered and drew your hand away from your face.

You looked up at him. Misery was all over your face. “Are you okay?” He asked.

“I am…” You choked up, “But Dongwook oppa isn’t.”

“What happened?” Jaejoong asked.

“Dongwook oppa saved me. I was about to get hit by a truck but he blocked the truck with his own car instead. I can’t believe he did that just to save me-“ You burst into another sob.

Jaejoong pulled you into his arms and held you tightly. *I will forever be grateful to Lee Dongwook for what he did tonight.*

“I feel so horrible.” You bawled. “He told me not to go but I insisted on going. I said some nasty things to him before I left, too. What if something happens to him, Jaejoong oppa? I don’t want my last words to him to be ‘I never asked you to wait for me.’ I’ll never be able to forgive myself if something happens to him.”

“Everything will be okay. Let’s wait together.” Jaejoong suggested.

An hour later, Hyunbin came running in. His eyes were wide in alarm. “Where’s Dongwook?!”

“Still in the surgery room. Oppa, otokae? What if Dongwook oppa doesn’t make it?” You croaked.

Hyunbin squeezed your arm, “Dongwook is strong. He will make it.” He looked to the side and did a double take at Jaejoong. Before he could ask, the surgery light finally blinked off.

You scrambled up and clasped your hands together *Please let Dongwook oppa be okay.*

The doors opened and your heart pounded in your chest.

“Dongwook!” Hyunbin ran over.

There were a couple scratches on his face and a bandage on the stitch on his head. There was also a cast around his broken left arm. Hyunbin followed the nurses as they wheeled the bed to the hospital room.

“How is he doctor?” You whispered. “He should be fine and his arm will heal in about 6 weeks.” He bowed and left.

Your body went limp with relief. Jaejoong caught your waist, “Gwenchana?” You were just numb with gratefulness *Thank you for making it out alive, Dongwook oppa.*

Jaejoong insisted on staying by your side but you made him go home. Only one person could spend the night so you forced Hyunbin to go home also.

You sat by Dongwook’s bed, holding his right hand. Tears rolled down your face. “Dongwook oppa, mianhae. I should have listened to you and I shouldn’t have said those hurtful words to you. I know you were only trying to help me. If you wake up, I’ll do anything you ask me to. I owe you my life for saving it.” You held his hands in both of yours and rested your forehead on them.

You felt his finger twitch and opened your eyes.

Dongwook’s eyes slowly opened. Your eyes widened, “Oppa.”

He pulled his hand away from yours. For a moment, you thought he was mad at you.

But then Dongwook rested his hand on top of your head. “Don’t…feel guilty…it’s…not…your fault. If I…went back to that time…I would save you…all over…again.” He breathed and gave you a small, weak smile.

You burst into tears. You wrapped your arms around his neck and hugged him tightly. “I’m so glad you made it, Dongwook oppa.” He rested his hand on your back, “I’m glad you’re okay.”

*I said I would do anything for you when you woke up and I meant it. I think I know my answer now.*
