Jaejoong’s head nodded back and forth. His body swayed to the side and fell off the chair. “Damn it!” He stood up and rubbed his butt.

Jaejoong checked the time. It was past midnight. *Her birthday is over! Gosh! Where is she anyways?! Shouldn’t she be home by now?!* Jaejoong contemplated what to do with all the food. He shrugged and sat back down.

*She’ll be back soon. Let’s just wait a little while. I can do that much for her.* Jaejoong crossed his arms and closed his eyes.

*What on earth am I doing? Am I seriously kissing Dongwook oppa right now? What would Hyunbin oppa say? What would Jaejoong oppa say?* You broke the kiss first.

Dongwook opened his eyes and looked at you.

You couldn’t meet his eyes, “Um, I’m going to sleep first.” You went into the tent and crawled into your sleeping bag. You thought about Dongwook’s kiss and buried your head in the sleeping bag. *WHAT WAS I THINKING?! KYAAA! First Jaejoong oppa, then Yoochun oppa, and now Dongwook oppa! What if Hyunbin oppa is next?!* You gasped then groaned. *Things just became more complicated.*

The next morning, you warily stepped out of the tent. You didn’t see anyone. *He didn’t leave me here, did he?* Dongwook appeared out of nowhere and you gasped. “Are you…okay?” He asked. You nodded, “You just scared me.” Awkwardness filled the air. You looked away *I don’t like how it’s so awkward now! What do we do?!* “Come and eat. I made breakfast over there.” Dongwook said. You nodded and followed him.

After breakfast, you helped Dongwook clean up the tent. The trip back to Seoul was silent and awkward. You thanked God for the radio or else it would’ve been too uncomfortable.

Dongwook stopped in front of your house. “~~~~~~~~~~…”

“Thank you for the birthday present, Dongwook oppa. You must be tired. Go home and rest, okay?” You waved and left the car in a hurry. Dongwook sighed *This is why I never told you that I loved you. I knew you would run away from me like this.* You burst inside your house and peeked out the curtains. His car had just left.

You sighed in relief then frowned. *I’m so sorry, Dongwook oppa, but I need some time.* You sighed and turned around. You jumped in surprise, “UMMAYA!”

Jaejoong was standing there with his arms crossed and a displeased frown was on his face. “Where the hell have you been all night?!” You thought of Dongwook and his kiss and turned red. “Um, just out…”

“Why is your phone off?!” He asked. “I actually ran out of battery.” You admitted.

“You should have given me a call! I was waiting the entire night for you!” Jaejoong shouted. You blinked in surprise, “Waiting for me? Why?” Jaejoong rolled his eyes and grabbed your wrist. “Follow me.” He dragged you into the kitchen.

Your eyes widened, “Omo!” The entire kitchen was decorated with pastel-colored balloons and streamers. At the top there was a banner that read HAPPY BIRTHDAY. There was much food and a red velvet birthday cake with vanilla frosting, your favorite.

“Did you…do all this for me?” You whispered, touched.

“Who else?” Jaejoong lit the birthday cake, “I’ll forgive you just this once since it’s your birthday- or was.” He took the birthday cake and came over. Jaejoong looked into your eyes and smiled sincerely. His own eyes sparkled in happiness. “Happy Birthday. I wanted to make your birthday as special as you had made mine. I know it can’t compare but this was the best I could do in a short amount of time. Next time, I’ll prepare better.”

Tears welled up in your eyes. *He did all this for me and I was out with Dongwook oppa last night and I even let him kiss me.* You felt a wave of guilt and started to cry.

Jaejoong panicked. He put the cake down and ran over. “What’s wrong? Are you hurt? Did something bad happen?” You continued to cry. Jaejoong took his handkerchief out and wiped your tears away. “Don’t cry. I’m sorry about your birthday. I didn’t know your birthday would come so quickly! You should have told me! Not that I’m blaming you but just please don’t cry.” He begged.

You sniffled and looked into his eyes. “Thank you for your effort.”

Jaejoong softly smiled, “You’re welcome. I promise next year’s birthday will be even better.” He wrapped his arms around you.

You held onto him *Will there even be a next year for us?*
