Jaejoong blew up the last balloon and hung it up. He stepped back and looked at his work. Jaejoong proudly nodded and smiled. *I think she’ll be surprised a lot.* Jaejoong took out the match and started to light the birthday cake. He checked the time *I wonder when she’ll come back.* Jaejoong called you but your phone was off. *I hope she’ll come back soon. I want to give her the birthday she gave me.* He turned the lights off and waited for you.

Meanwhile, you were safely snuggled inside the tent. You could hear Dongwook trying to cook the ramen outside. You poked your head out, “Should I help?”

“No, I got it. Unlike Hyunbin, I know how to cook ramen.” He winked.

You giggled. You rested your arms on the opening of the test and lay your chin on it.

“Go inside while I make this. It’s cold out here.” Dongwook said.

You shook your head, “I want to keep you company.” Dongwook smiled and continued to cook.

You spaced out and your thoughts wandered to Jaejoong. *I wonder what he’s doing at this moment.*

“I’m done!” Dongwook proclaimed. You sat up, “Already?” He nodded and set up the utensils, “Come and eat.”

You and Dongwook sat on the logs and ate the ramen.

“It’s way better than pasta.” You chuckld. “It’s just because I made it.” He joked. Both of you laughed.

Jaejoong turned the lights on and blew the candles out. He didn’t want the wax to melt onto your cake. Jaejoong called you against but couldn’t get in contact with you. He sighed *Is she even coming home tonight? She better. I prepared everything for her.* Jaejoong sat on the chair with his arms crossed. As time passed, he would either check the time, call you, or walk around. He lit the candles several times but always ended up blowing them out.

Jaejoong actually grew sleepy and almost fell off the chair. He slapped his cheeks *Must stay awake!*

At Wando, you and Dongwook had finished eating and cleaning up. The two of you just sat in front of the campfire. Dongwook went into the tent and came back out with the blanket. He pulled it around your shoulders.

“Thank you.” You beamed. Dongwook smiled and sat back down. “It’s cold out here. Let’s share.” You put the other end of the blanket around him.

Dongwook looked at you. “Are you satisfied with your birthday today?”

You beamed and nodded, “I liked it a lot. It was the most relaxing birthday I ever had. I’m thinking of doing this every year.” You chuckled.

“Your birthday isn’t over yet.” Dongwook said. “Huh?” You blinked.

Dongwook pulled out something from his bag. “Omo! How adorable!” You squealed at the red velvet birthday cupcake. He lit the candle and held it out. You cupped your hands around the candle so that the light wouldn’t blow out. Dongwook gently murmured the birthday song to you. “Make a wish.”

You made a wish and blew the candle out. “Yay!” You clapped.

Dongwook gave you the cupcake and you started to eat it. “Want some?” You asked. He shook his head. “Have a bite.” You urged. Dongwook gave in and took a bite. “Yummy.” You chuckled.

Dongwook dug into his backpack. “What do you have in there now?” You giggled. “Your gift.” He held out a box.

Your eyes widened, “You got me a gift, too?!” “Don’t I always?” Dongwook smiled with a sly glint in his eyes.

You put the half-eaten cupcake down and started to open the present. It was a gold locket. You opened it to find a picture of you, Dongwook, and Hyunbin. In the back, it was engraved: No matter what, we’re always together.

“Aww, oppa.” You almost started to cry. It was such a thoughtful gift. “I wanted you to know that no matter what, Hyunbin and I will always be there for you.” Dongwook said.

You gazed at the words. “Here. Let me put it on for you.” Dongwook took the locket and clasped it around your neck. He pulled back and smiled, “Perfect size. I’m glad I didn’t get the longer chain. Do you like it?”

“I love it and I mean it. This is the most beautiful necklace I ever received.” You wiped the tears away. “Honestly, I’ve been having a hard time lately with Jaejoong oppa and all. I didn’t even tell him it was my birthday in fear that he would ditch me for Ahyoung somehow. I didn’t want to be heartbroken on my birthday. I felt so lonely nowadays. So this gift is really touching, oppa. I’ll cherish it close to my heart always. I promise.” You looked up at him.

Dongwook softened, “Are you really scared that Jaejoong will hurt you again?”

You dismally nodded, “I don’t know when he’ll turn his back to me again. Yet, I can’t stop my feelings at all. I’m a babo, huh?”

Dongwook shook his head, “Not at all.” You smiled, “Liar. You’re too nice, Dongwook oppa.”

You looked up at the night sky. “Oh!” You pointed, “A shooting star! Did you see that?! Let’s make a wish!” You closed your eyes and put your hands together. The wind gently ruffled your hair. Dongwook tenderly gazed at you.

You opened your eyes and smiled, “Did you make a wish?” He nodded, “Did you?”

You nodded. “It’s supposed to be a secret but I’ll tell you since you’re my bff.” You leaned in and whispered, “I wished that Ahyoung wouldn’t fall in love with Jaejoong oppa. What about you?”

Dongwook searched your eyes, “I wished that you wouldn’t fall in love with Kim Jaejoong.”

Your eyes fluttered in surprise. His eyes fell onto your lips. “~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~…can’t you fall in love with me instead?”

Your eyes rounded. *Fall in love with Dongwook oppa?!*

Before you could ask him what he meant, Dongwook closed his eyes and pressed his lips against yours. Your eyes widened and you froze entirely for a moment. It was unbelievable that your best friend was kissing you!

Dongwook pulled back and gazed into your eyes.

You swallowed hard but didn’t look away. He leaned in again and kissed you once more.

This time, your eyes fell closed.
