It was the weekend. You were planning to go shopping at Oska Mall, say hi to Hyunbin, and go see Dongwook at Line Tour. You skipped down the stairs in your casual but fashionable attire.

“Are you going somewhere?” Your mom asked. “Yes. To shop and see oppas.” You kissed her cheek and skipped towards the door.

“I’m afraid you have to move your schedule.” She said. “Hmm?” You turned around and curiously blinked, wondering why.

Your mom secretly smiled, “Our guests are going to arrive any minute.” “Guests?” You tilted your head.

The doorbell rang and the butler answered, “Good afternoon, Mr. and Mrs. Kim.”

*Kim?* You turned your head. You gasped with wide eyes. *NO WAY! EVIL ELEVATOR AHJUSSHI IS OUR GUEST?!*

Jaejoong and his parents entered the room.

“Welcome!” Your mom greeted. “It’s good to be here!” Mrs. Kim laughed just as happily. Your dad came out of nowhere, “Ah, you’re here!” “How are you?” Mr. Kim laughed. The parents shook hands and chatted like they were old friends.

You gaped at Jaejoong. He raised an eyebrow and stared back.

“Mom…what is going on?” You asked, still in shock.

“Oh, we never mentioned it, did we? The Kims and we have a long history. It goes back to your father’s college days. You see, him and Mr. Kim were actually roommates.” She beamed. “Roommates?” You stared at her. “Yes.” Mr. Kim grinned. “That’s why I invited them for dinner today.”

Mrs. Kim stepped up to you. She warmly took your hands and shook them, “You are as beautiful, if not more, as when you were little.” You gave her a small, confused small. “Don’t you think your fiance is beautiful, Jaejoong?” She smiled.

“FIANCE?!” You and Jaejoong yelped. The two of you stared at each other in horror.

*DON’T TELL ME…I’M MARRYING HER/HIM?!*

The two families gathered in the living room.

“I want an explanation, mother and father.” Jaejoong sourly said.

You eagerly nodded, “Yes, why am I marrying a stranger?!”

“Stranger! The two of you met before!” Your mom heartily laughed. You and Jaejoong stared at each other *Before?*

“Yes, don’t you remember the summer before you went to elementary school? You actually met Jaejoong before you met Dongwook and Hyunbin.” Your parents asked.

FLASHBACK:

While the adults grilled barbeque, a 5-years-old girl picked flowers in the garden. She blew on the dandelions and watched them fly away. With a smile, she picked more daises to make them into a flower necklace. The girl ran out of room in her tiny hand and placed the daises safely by her side.

A shadow approached her. Before she could cry out in warning, the 8-years-old boy had stomped on the flowers.

“Nooo!” The girl started bawling.

The boy stopped *Oops. I just wanted to check on her…* He looked around, not knowing what to do about the sobbing girl in front of him. The boy scratched his head. He had never been in such a situation before.

Finally, the boy picked a dandelion and held it out. The girl stopped crying and stared at him. He gently blew the dandelion and the seeds scattered towards her. A couple landed in her hair but most of them softly tickled her as they blew by.

“If I help you pick flowers, will you stop crying?” The boy asked.

The girl paused then nodded.

Together in comfortable silence, the two children picked daises.

At the end of the day, the girl ran up to the boy before he could leave and slid the wilted flower bracelet on his wrist. “Thank you.” She beamed.

The boy gazed at her for a couple seconds and a sweet smile curled on his lips, “Thank you…”
