That night, Jaejoong didn’t feel so well. His stomach hurt and cold sweat covered his forehead.
You knocked on his office door. “Come in.” He muttered.
You opened the door, “Are you going to eat dinner?”
The thought of dinner made his stomach queasy. “No.”
“Why not? Is it because I’m going to order food?” You put your hand on your hip and tilted your head. “Come on. I’m going to order pasta. This restaurant’s spaghetti and meatballs are pretty good-“
At the description of the food, Jaejoong groaned.
“What’s wrong with you?” You approached him and noticed the cold sweat on his forehead. “Omo, you sick?!” You put your hand on his cold forehead.
“No,” Jaejoong pushed your hand away, “I think I have indigestion.”
“Indigestion? You were eating lunch pretty well.” You commented.
*It’s because of that darn Hyunbin. I can never be at peace around him.* Jaejoong opened his drawer but there was no medicine. *Shit.*
You peeked over, “No meds?” Jaejoong buried his face in his arms. “Hmm…I’ll just go buy some.” You headed towards the door.
Jaejoong sat up, “How? You can’t drive.”
“There’s a pharmacy nearby. I’ll walk.” You left.
Jaejoong looked out the window. It was pretty dark. *Darn. I can’t let her go alone.* He headed out the door, “Wait for me.”
You turned around.
Jaejoong sluggishly shuffled downstairs with his arm around his stomach. “I’ll go with you.” “You’re in no condition to drive.” You scolded. “I’ll just walk. Maybe it’ll make me feel better.” He shrugged and left the house.
You sighed and shook your head *Still so stubborn.* The two of you walked down the alley.
Jaejoong was wrong. He felt worse by the second. *Why did I agree to leave home?!* Jaejoong stopped and leaned against the wall. You stopped and turned around. He didn’t look well at all.
“Just stay here. I’ll be quick.” You ran off.
Jaejoong spotted a couple guys in the dark alley eyeing you. *She’s so naïve! Argh! God, why did you give that child as my wife?!* With no choice, he hobbled after you.
You darted into the pharmacy and asked the pharmacist for indigestion medicine. She handed you a bottle of liquid. You paid for it and came out. “I thought I told you to stay there!” You said in exasperation.
“Just give me that.” Jaejoong crankily snatched the medicine from you. He sat on the cold sidewalk and tried to open the drink.
“Give it to me.” You took the bottle and sat next to him. You opened the bottle and handed it to him. Jaejoong quickly drank it, hoping the faster he drank it, the quicker he would feel better.
“Oh God.” Jaejoong groaned and covered his face.
“Do you want to throw up?” You looked around.
“No, no.” He waved his hand.
“Maybe you would feel better once you get something cold to eat. Should I buy you some cola? Or ice cream? Or-
“ “Stop naming foods!” Jaejoong blocked his ears. “I was just trying to help.” You shrugged. “Then stay quiet!” He snapped. You shut your mouth.
It was silent.
Jaejoong’s eyes were closed and he was pinching the bridge of his nose.
You bit your lip in concern *He must be in a lot of pain.*
Jaejoong felt you taking his hand. He opened his eyes.
You gently massaged his palm. “When I would get indigestion, my nanny would always do this for me. It made me feel better. I don’t know if this is the correct way or not so don’t nag me!”
Jaejoong softened. It was the first time besides his mother that someone took care of him when he was sick.
You focused on pinching and pushing the right places on his palm. You dropped that hand and held out your hand, “Give me your other hand.” Jaejoong willingly put his other hand into yours. You massaged that one also. You didn’t hear his whines anymore and looked up. “Feeling better?”
Jaejoong nodded. You smiled and continued to knead his hand.
Jaejoong softly gazed at you with a smile of admiration *I never noticed before but she’s really sweet.*
