The next morning, Jaejoong came downstairs to see you chewing on your cereal. You rubbed your eyes and poked the frosted flakes. “Why are you eating cereal?” He asked. “Because that’s all I can make.” You grumbled.

“You should wait for the cook or maid to come.” Jaejoong said. “It’s Sunday.” You pointed out.

*Oh. Right. They don’t work today.* “Do you…want me to take you out to eat?” Jaejoong asked.

You blinked at him for a few seconds then looked away. “No.”

“O…kay.” Jaejoong went to the refrigerator and pulled out a bottle of water. He could hear you crunching on your cereal. Each loud bite made him wonder if you had something against him. Jaejoong couldn’t take it anymore. He sat in front of you. “Okay, so what’s up? You mad at me?”

“Am I mad at you?” You raised an eyebrow. “You must be kidding me. OF COURSE I’M MAD AT YOU!” You picked up your bowl and spoon and walked away.

Jaejoong followed you, “Why?”

There was a loud clatter as you dropped the bowl and spoon into the sink. You spun around in outrage, “Why? WHY?! You practically ditched me last night!”

Jaejoong rolled his eyes, “Did not-“

You crossed your arms and gave him a look.

“…Okay, maybe I did.” He corrected.

This time, you rolled your eyes and walked past him.

Jaejoong followed you. “Come on! I had a perfectly legit excuse!”

You spun around on the staircase, “Oh yeah? What is that ‘legit excuse’?” You made quotation marks in the air.

“Ahyoung was drunk. She needed my help!”

“Your help? Are you sure about that? Was it your help that she really needed?” You jabbed his chest. “Ow, that hurts.” Jaejoong frowned. “Yeah well, I was hurt last night, too.” You said. His face fell.

“Do I not exist to you when it comes to Ahyoung? I’m a person, too. As much as you don’t care about me, it still hurts if you see her and not me. And last night when you forgot me like that, it hurt. A lot.” You walked away.

Jaejoong paused for 2 seconds before running after you. He grabbed your elbow before you could go into your room. You looked at him. “I do care for you.” Jaejoong whispered.

“Not as much as you do for Ahyoung.” You pulled away but he held on. “Look. I’m sorry for what happened tonight. But she was drunk and she needed my help.” Jaejoong said.

“You could’ve asked someone else to help her. Or you could have even asked me to just come with you.” You pointed out.

“I know, I know. I wasn’t thinking right. I’m really sorry. Just forgive me this once. I swear I won’t leave you all alone again.” Jaejoong promised. You thought about it. “Please?” He whispered.

“…Okay. I forgive you. Just this one time though! Don’t ever ditch me again!” You warned.

“Araso.” Jaejoong nodded. “Good.” You nodded and went into your room.

Jaejoong sighed in relief *At least she’s not mad at me anymore.*

Inside your room, you were giggling with joy *He apologized to me!*
