He doesn't love you. He never will.
After your 3rdglass of juice, you had to use the restroom. “Excuse me.” You left the hall. After using the toilet, you washed your hands and came back out. On your way, you unexpectedly collided into someone. You looked up to see Park Joon. He seemed drunk and his eyes weren’t focused.
“Sorry.” You passed by.
Suddenly, Park Joon grabbed your wrist.
You gasped as he spun you around. “W-what are you doing?”
“You really think Kim Jaejoong married you because of love?” He sneered. *Of course not.* “Please let go-“
“He has a girl that he loves. Do you know who she is? Huh?” Joon sneered.
“It’s Ahyoung. Yoo Fucking Ahyoung. Do you know that? He loves her and not you and he’ll never love anyone but her. That’s how uptight and desperate Kim Jaejoong is.” He snarled.
You didn’t know why he was venting to you about it. You hardly knew the guy. “Please, let me go! You’re hurting me!” You desperately tried to get away.
Joon leaned towards you and you could smell alcohol on his breath. “Freaking Kim Jaejoong. I feel sorry that you have to live with the guy.” You winced and leaned back as far as possible. *Somebody help me!*
Out of nowhere, Joon was punched in the mouth. Your eyes rounded with a gasp. You looked up, “Jaejoong oppa!” He fixed the cuff of his shirt as he practically breathed fire and glared at Joon with flashing eyes. “You have a problem with me then take it out on me and NOT MY WIFE, YOU FUCKING BASTARD!” Jaejoong punched him again. Joon landed on the floor, out cold.
Jaejoong was about to kick him but you held his arm back, “Jaejoong oppa, no!”
Yoochun and Ahyoung came running. “What is going on?!” “Jaejoong, did you do this?” Ahyoung gasped in horror. Jaejoong didn’t reply but continued to glare resentfully at Joon. He snapped his attention to you, “You. Are you all right?” You nodded, scared. “Come.” Jaejoong grabbed your wrist and dragged you back into the party.
Yoochun glanced at Joon then darted back into the party. A couple guys came out to take Joon home.
Ahyoung was left alone in the empty hallway. *Kim Jaejoong. Did you punch Park Joon just for her? I thought you didn’t care for her.* For some reason, the thought made her depressed. Jaejoong led you to the back of the party where no one was. He spun around and faced you.
“Are you really okay? Did Joon hurt you in any way?” Jaejoong examined you in concern. You shook your head and softly spoke, “I’m okay…thank you for defending me back there.” Jaejoong softened, “Of course I would.” You and Jaejoong gazed at each other. A warm feeling spread in your chest.
Yoochun darted in, breaking the mood. “Is everything all right?” He turned to you, “~~~~~~~~ are you okay?”
You nodded, “I’m okay.”
“I’m sorry. Park Joon tends to do stupid things like that. Please don’t mind him.”
*That’s my line.* Jaejoong bitterly thought. He was back to being irked by Yoochun’s closeness to you. “Excuse me.” Jaejoong left.
You watched him leave *Where is he going?*
“Are you okay?” Yoochun made sure again. You gave him a small smile and nodded.
Jaejoong loosened his tie. *What the heck is wrong with Park Yoochun? ~~~~~ is my wife, not his. So why is he taking care of her like he’s her husband?* He fumed.
“Jaejoong!” Junsu ran over. “Yah, go stop Ahyoung.”
“What?” He blinked, baffled.
Junsu leaned in and whispered, “She’s at her 3rdglass of vodka already at the bar. Do something.”
Jaejoong immediately walked over. “Ahyoung-ah.” She looked up with half-lidded eyes. “Oh-hiccup-Kim-hiccup-Jaejoong. Is your precious wife okay?” Ahyoung stood up but stumbled. Jaejoong quickly caught her.
“You’re drunk.” He whispered. “Yeah. I’m the one that’s not okay…” Her eyes closed and head fell against his chest.
Junsu ran over, “Is she okay?” “Yeah, I think I’ll just take her home. Can you ask the worker to get my car?” Jaejoong asked. “Sure.” Junsu ran off.
Jaejoong lifted Ahyoung bridal style and carried her to the exit. He ran into you and Yoochun on the way. Your eyes widened at Ahyoung in his arms.
“What happened to Ahyoung?” Yoochun asked, wide-eyed. “She drank too much. I’m going to take her home.” Jaejoong left without looking back twice.
“Hey!” Yoochun called but he was already gone. “But…what about your wife?” Yoochun looked at you.
You stared at the doorway, hurt. *He forgot about me.*
Yoochun quickly said, “I’ll take you home. The party is over anyways. Come.” He led you to his car.
The ride home was silent. Yoochun parked in front of your mansion. “Hey, we’re here.”
You snapped out of your thoughts. “Oh. Right.” You stepped out. “Thank you for the ride.”
Yoochun nodded, “Sleep well.” “You, too.” You waved and went into the house.
It was dark. You turned the lights on and looked around. *Jaejoong oppa didn’t come home yet.* You sighed and trudged upstairs to your bedroom.
After you took a shower and changed into warm pajamas, you came back downstairs. You looked at the clock. It was past 1 and Jaejoong still wasn’t home yet. *What would take him so long? He’s just taking her home, right? Does she live so far away? Whatever. I’m tired. I’m going to bed.* Cranky, you went to your room.
45 minutes later, Jaejoong came back home. Like the guilty husband that he was, he silently tip-toed inside. *Is she still awake? She can’t still be waiting for me, can she?* Jaejoong went upstairs. He lightly tapped your door and poked his head inside.
You were asleep on your side with the blanket off of you.
Jaejoong softened. He came inside and walked over to the bed. Jaejoong took the blanket and pulled it over you. He sat on the edge of the bed and watched you sleep. Jaejoong reached out and pushed your bangs out of the way.
A flashback of the kiss at the party made him stop. *We actually kissed tonight. And it wasn’t bad at all. In fact…I might have liked it a bit.*
Jaejoong shook his head to drive the repeating image out of his mind. He stood up and headed to the door. Jaejoong glanced back at you one more time. Then he turned the light off and silently left the room.
