Hyunbin and Dongwook FINALLY had time off after their business trips. Dongwook invited both of you to his house for dinner. He picked you up earlier to go shopping for food.
You hopped up onto the bottom support of the cart and pointed, “Go!” Smiling, Dongwook put his hands on the cart from behind you and pushed you. You grabbed ice cream and snacks.
“Those are going to spoil your dinner.” Dongwook chuckled.
“Don’t worry. I always have room for food!” You patted your lean stomach.
Dongwook looked for the best-looking bell peppers. You grabbed yellow and red ones and tapped him. He turned around to see you putting them against your eyes. “Pretty, huh?” You made a face.
Dongwook laughed. Only you would look adorable with bell peppers for eyes. “Dork.” Dongwook put them away. You giggled.
After buying all the ingredients, the two of you headed to his house. You put all the ice cream away while he started to rinse the vegetables. You sat on the stool and watched him get to work on dinner. You studied your best friend carefully. *He’s tall, gorgeous, wealthy, sweet, smart, funny, and a good cook. He’s the entire package. So I wonder why he hasn’t had a girlfriend before. Hyunbin oppa always had girls but not Dongwook oppa.*
Dongwook looked up, “What? Do I have something on my face?”
You smiled and shook your head. “So, what’s on the menu tonight, Chef Dongwook?” “Squid Spaghetti.” He smiled.
“…Did we even buy the squid?” You asked.
Dongwook dropped the knife and stared at you.
You laughed, “You forgot.”
“…Forget what I said. We’ll just have vegetable fried rice.” Dongwook mumbled.
You giggled, “Dork.”
Dongwook continued to slice the vegetables. You watched him toss the ingredients into the pan. You planted your elbow on the counter and rested your chin on your palm. You admiringly smiled, “I should’ve learned cooking from you instead.”
“Cooking?” Dongwook looked at you. “You’re learning how to cook?”
You nodded and slid off the stool. “I enrolled in a cooking academy.” You came over and pulled your sleeves up.
“Why?” Dongwook asked, baffled.
“Because I want to try it out.” You took the wooden spoon from him and started to stir the fried rice. “The truth is, Jaejoong oppa told me he wants a wife that can cook. I can’t cook at all so I decided to learn for him.” *You’re learning so that you can please him?* Dongwook was puzzled.
“Is this how you do it?” You asked. He snapped out of his daze and nodded.
“So yeah. Class started but it’s the beginning so we’re not really learning any recipes.” You replied.
“If Jaejoong wants his wife to die, will you?” Dongwook asked. You looked at him. “~~~~~~~~ you should do whatever you want because you want to do it. Not because he wants it. You can’t go around pleasing him. He won’t even last that long.” He gave you a stern look.
The last part stung a bit. You casually shrugged, “True but I can still try. Besides, it’s good practice for my real, future husband. He’ll like it that I can cook. Right? Guys like girls that can cook?” You beamed.
Dongwook smiled back and nodded. The fire flew up and you yelped.
“I’ll do it.” Dongwook took the spoon from you. “Want to try?” He held some fried rice out. “Ow!” You burned your lips. “Oh, sorry.” Dongwook blew on it and held it out. You took a careful bite. “How is it?” He asked. You beamed, “Better than me. You’re perfect, Dongwook oppa.” He smiled back.
You took the spoon and finished stirring the rice.
“Do it like this.” Dongwook came behind you and put his hand over yours. He directed your hand so that you were stirring in a criss-cross motion.
Hyunbin came in and saw you and Dongwook cooking together. “What is this I see?”
You gasped in surprise. Dongwook released you and stepped back.
“If I didn’t know you two, I would say the two of you are a honeymoon couple. I thought you were Mrs. Kim Jaejoong, not Mrs. Lee Dongwook.” Hyunbin raised an eyebrow.
“Don’t be silly, Binnie oppa.” You whacked his arm. You held out the fried rice, “Try it! I helped Dongwook oppa fry it!”
Hyunbin shut his mouth, “You made this?”
“I helped.” You beamed.
Hyunbin walked away, “Then I’m skipping dinner tonight.”
“BINNIE OPPA!” You ran after him.
Dongwook could hear the two of you squabbling in the living room. He sighed and shook his head with a smile *Those two never change.*
