Monday was bright and sunny. You were reading magazines while eating chocolate dipped cherries. Your phone rang and you answered right away, “Hello?”
“You home?” Jaejoong asked. “Hello to you, too.” You flipped to the next page.
“I need you to bring me something. If you go into my study, you’ll see a blue folder on my desk. Bring it to my office right now.” Jaejoong ordered.
“You know that counts as your second wish?” You slyly asked.
Jaejoong smacked his face and sighed *I am never forgetting anything at home again.* “Whatever. Just bring it to me as soon as possible.”
“Your second wish will be granted!” Giggling, you hung up. You skipped up to his study. *Where is the folder? A-ha!* You picked it up. You saw a picture on the desk and stopped. It was not a picture of his friends, family, or even you. But it was a single picture of Ahyoung. She looked beautiful smiling in a sundress. *So he only had our wedding photo at his office for appearances and his real feelings are here?* You suddenly grew sad at the thought.
You quickly shook your head and tapped your face a couple times. *Snap out of it. Why would he have your picture here? You two are just business! When you get a man you love, put his picture on your desk, too!* You solemnly nodded and headed to the company.
Jaejoong snatched the folder from you, “Finally. I was wondering why it took you such a long time.” You made a face, “Do you have a problem with saying thank you?” Jaejoong chuckled.
Before he could even say thank you, there was a knock on the door. Both of you looked up as Yoochun entered. “Hey, Jaejoong. Oh- you’re here, too.” He warmly smiled. You beamed and bowed, “Hello.”
Yoochun held out a hand, “Uh-uh. Remember? You are going to call me oppa?” “Oh yeah.” You blushed.
Jaejoong blinked, “What the- since when did the two of you become so cozy?”
“Of course we should be cozy. She’s married to my best friend.” Yoochun winked at you and you smiled widely.
“What are you here for?” Jaejoong asked, slightly irritated. “I wanted to ask if you wanted to have lunch together.” Yoochun said. Jaejoong checked his watch, “Can’t. I have a stockholder’s meeting.” He headed towards the door.
“That’s fine then. I’ll just eat with your wife.” Yoochun said.
Jaejoong froze and spun around with a confused expression, “What?!”
Yoochun smiled, “How about we have that promised lunch today?” “It’s fine with me.” You smiled. “Great. Let’s go.” He held his arm out towards the door. You headed out with a wave, “Bye, Jaejoong oppa. Have fun at your meeting.” “Don’t worry. I’ll take good care of your wife.” Yoochun grinned.
Jaejoong watched the two of you disappear into the elevator. *What the hell was that?! Park Yoochun! First you steal Ahyoung and now you steal my wife?*
Yoochun led you to his yellow Bugatti Veyron. He held the door open. “Thank you.” You ducked inside. Yoochun went into the driver’s side and put his seatbelt on, “Seafood okay?” You smiled and nodded. “Awesome.” Yoochun grinned.
The two of you went to a fancy seafood restaurant. Yoochun pulled open the chair for you like a gentleman and even placed the napkin cloth on your lap. “Thank you.” You beamed, touched by his manners. “You’re welcome. Order whatever you want. The food here is amazing.” Yoochun smiled.
You ordered shrimp pasta and he had the seafood carbonara. There were peanuts in your pasta and you started taking them out one by one.
“You don’t like peanuts?” Yoochun asked. “I’m actually allergic to them.” You replied. Yoochun’s face fell. He hadn’t known that. Yoochun snapped his fingers and the waiter came by, “Yes?”
“Can you please remake her dish and take all the peanuts out? She’s allergic to them.” Yoochun said. “Certainly.” The waitress took your dish and left. “That wasn’t necessary. I could’ve taken them out myself.” You said. Yoochun shook his head, “It would be horrible if you accidentally ate one and I promised Jaejoong I would take care of you.” You smiled and nodded.
Your pasta came back, this time without any peanuts. The two of you began to eat.
“So how is your marriage life so far?” Yoochun asked. You shrugged, “It’s all right. Not that bad, actually.” Yoochun laughed, “Is Jaejoong treating you right?” “Mostly.” You replied. Yoochun chuckled, “Well forgive him if he makes any mistakes. He may seem cocky and uncaring at times but all in all, he’s a good guy.” You remembered the rainy day when he played with you and you nodded *I guess he is.*
“I’m actually glad you’re not depressed or anything.” Yoochun said. You blinked, “Why would I be depressed?”
“Since this is an arranged marriage.” Yoochun said. “Oh.” You looked at your food and poked the noodles.
“I know it was hard to make a decision to get married to a stranger and I admire you for sticking with it and not complaining. Jaejoong should be happy he got a wife like you.” Yoochun said. “You should tell him that.” You said. He chuckled, “I already did.” You smiled.
“I think I said this before but treat me as you would treat your friends. Call me oppa and don’t hesitate to call me for anything. If Jaejoong is mean to you, tell me and I’ll beat him up for you.” Yoochun offered.
You giggled, “You would hit your own best friend for me?”
“Of course. Between you and me, sometimes, that guy has to be knocked down a peg or two.” He winked.
You laughed. Yoochun grinned, “So if you need help, just remember you have me.”
“Neh~ Yoochun oppa.” You bit your fork and smiled.
Yoochun smiled and sipped his water with his eyes on you the entire time *Like I said before, she’s adorable.*
------
Meanwhile, Jaejoong was spacing out at his meeting. While the other company droned on and on about the economy, he was creating all sorts of scenarios with you and Yoochun in his head. *I don’t understand. Since when did they become so close? It was my mistake for sending her there. Gosh. I wonder what they’re doing now.* Jaejoong sighed.
The lights turned on and one of the CEOs asked, “What do you think, Mr. Kim Jaejoong-shi?” All eyes turned to him.
“Er,” He glanced around, “…I think it’s great.” The businessmen mumbled in confusion.
“Do continue. I’m listening.” Jaejoong put his hands together and tried hard to concentrate on the meeting. *Snap out of, Kim Jaejoong. Focus on work, not her. Who cares what your best friend and wife are doing behind your back. As long as he’s not alone with Ahyoung, you’re okay…right?*
