It was a lazy Friday. You had woken up late. After a lazy breakfast in bed, you went out to the salon and got your hair and nails done. You had just come out of the massage shop when your phone rang.
“Hello?” You answered. “Where are you?” He asked.
“Out.” You replied. “I need you to do me a favor.” Jaejoong said.
“What?” You curiously asked.
“I have a meeting in 2 hours. I can’t move anywhere and my secretary is out. Go to Kia and ask for my friend Park Yoochun. He’ll give you a document and just bring it here.” Jaejoong said.
“What? No please?” You pouted. “Please? I really need your help right now.” Jaejoong pleaded, slightly irritated.
“Araso. Bye.” You snapped your phone shut and stuck your tongue out. *You should be lucky I’m a good wife.*
You went into your car and the chauffeur drove off. You went to the front desk and they directed you to the director’s office. No one was inside the room. You looked around the vast office. On the mahogany desk was a clear diamond plate with the name PARK YOOCHUN engraved in white. You picked up the picture frame on his desk. It was a photo of Jaejoong, Ahyoung, and Yoochun at camp. They looked as snuggle as three peas in a pod. A smile tugged up the corner of your lips *Reminds me of our trio.*
Suddenly, the door opened. Yoochun entered the room. He saw you holding the picture frame and you immediately repented, “I’m sorry. I was just looking around. I didn’t mean to pry-“ “Don’t worry about it.” Yoochun warmly smiled. *Wow. He has a different vibe than Ahyoung.* You thought.
“Go ahead and sit. Would you like something to drink?” He asked.
“Um, I have to be back soon…” You glanced at your watch.
“A coffee wouldn’t hurt.” Yoochun pressed the button already. The secretary came in with two cups of coffee. “Go ahead and sit. Make yourself at home.” Yoochun motioned.
You sat on the black couch and he sat on the armchair. You took a sip of your coffee and glanced about. You placed the cup back on the saucer, “You have a very lovely office.”
“Thanks. I try to make it look less depressed.” Yoochun chuckled. He leaned forward with his elbows on his legs. “I didn’t know Jaejoong would send his own wife to fetch the documents.”
“He was busy and so was his secretary.” You promptly replied.
“Then I could have sent my own secretary. I apologize on behalf of my friend. It’s his first time getting married so he has no idea how to treat his wife.” Yoochun joked, which you actually laughed to. He smiled *I really like her laugh.* “I didn’t introduce myself properly before. I’m Park Yoochun, one of Jaejoong’s closest friends.”
You beamed and shyly nodded, “I heard about that. You’re, er, very different from his other close friend.”
Yoochun immediately knew who you were talking about, “Don’t worry about Ahyoung. She may seem evil but she’s actually good on the inside.” You stared at him. “Well…deep deep inside.” He shrugged. You laughed. *He reminds me of Dongwook oppa. Very calm and joking.*
Your phone rang. It was Jaejoong. “I should go.” You stood up.
“Let me get you the document.” Yoochun walked over to his desk and brought it to you.
“Thank you.” You bowed.
“No need to be formal. I’m the same age as Jaejoong so you may call me oppa.” Yoochun conceded. “Opppa?” You perked up. Yoochun walked you to the door. “It’s a shame we couldn’t get to know each other more over lunch.”
“Maybe next time.” You suggested. Yoochun grinned, “Definitely. Drop by anytime. Then, goodbye ~~~~~~~~~~.” He waved. You waved back and left Kia. *What a very nice man.* You giggled to yourself.
Half an hour later, you arrived at Samsung. The secretary saw you and bowed right away. Jaejoong came out of his office, “You brought it?” You held it out. He snatched it away and walked off. “Yeah. You’re welcome.” You made a face. You turned to leave but he called, “Wait in my room.”
Before you could protest, he was gone. You pouted *What am I? A dog? Why does he always give me orders?*
You went into his office. It was very clean and spacious. There was the same picture on his desk that Yoochun had on his. But what surprised you was the other picture on his desk. It was of you and him on his wedding day. You picked up the photo and softy gazed at it *If strangers saw us, they would think we married because we’re deeply in love.* There was a gentle tap on the door. You put the photo back and sat down. The secretary came in and bowed, “I brought juice for you.” “Thank you.” You smiled.
You sipped juice and waited until Jaejoong came back from the meeting. He shut the door and rotated his neck as he loosened his tie.
“Stressed?” You raised an eyebrow. “You have no idea.” Jaejoong groaned.
“I was stressed waiting for you, too. Why did you want me to stay?” You asked. “Because I’m going home now so I thought we could go together.” Jaejoong put his blazer back on and put his tie back in place.
The two of you left his room. Everyone bowed and greeted as you passed by. Jaejoong would either nod or smile. The two of you went into the elevators. You could still see people bowing 90 degrees. The elevator doors closed and he leaned against the wall with a sigh of relief.
“Now my workers won’t be suspicious of our relationship.”
You raised an eyebrow, “Is everything about keeping up appearances?”
“Of course. It’s the outside that people see.” Jaejoong grinned.
You rolled your eyes *He’s so calculative about everything.*
“Do you want to eat at a restaurant before going home?” He asked. “What? So that strangers will know that you and I are in a ‘happy marriage’?” You sarcastically asked.
“You know it.” Jaejoong chuckled. “Jerk.” You muttered.
“Ladies first.” Jaejoong nodded. *At least he has manners.* You stepped out.
