Leo hated going to sleep. Well, it wasn’t so much that he hated sleeping as much as it was he hated the dreams that came every time he slept. It wasn’t that the dreams were bad, quite the opposite actually. The dreams he had were great, wonderful even, and he never wanted to wake up from them.

That was the problem.

He had to wake up. And when he did, he had to face reality. He had to be reminded that his dreams weren’t real. Every time he slept he got to be with the one he loved, but waking up meant he had to face the reality that the one he loved wasn’t his. And he probably never would be, either. No, because Leo wasn’t lucky enough for that to happen, for his dreams to become real.

So, Leo decided to avoid dreaming, it hurt his heart too much. The down side was that this meant giving up on sleeping and it didn’t take long for the effects, the negative ones, to take effect. Everyone had noticed and was getting increasingly concerned for his well-being. Maybe that was why Leo had curled up in one of the individual practice rooms and just slept.

“Hyung?”

Leo slowly opened his eyes, awakening to the sound of someone calling him. it took a moment for Leo’s tired brain to process who it was and where he was, but when he realized it was Hyuk calling him he snapped to attention, sitting up straight. Hyuk leaned back slightly, giving the older some space.

“What’s wrong?” Leo asked, hoping that he showed no sign of just what he had been dreaming about.

“Nothing,” Hyuk replied, “I came in here to tell you that we’re going back to the dorm.”

“Alright,” Leo nodded, starting to stretch and get up.

“Hyung?” Hyuk asked, returning Leo’s attention to himself, “You were talking in your sleep.”

“Oh?” Leo questioned, trying to look disinterested even though he really wanted to know what he’d said in his sleep. Hopefully it wasn’t anything that would clue Hyuk in to what he had been dreaming about.

“Yeah,” Hyuk nodded, looking more than a little shy, “you, um, you said my name. A lot.”

“Re-really?” Leo said, terrified about what Hyuk had heard.

“Yeah,” Hyuk nodded before pausing,

“Hyuk?” Leo frowned, concerned as to why the maknae had gone silent.

“Hyung,” Hyuk took a deep breath, “I like you. A lot.”

Leo paused, trying to process the younger’s words. He’d had plenty of dream about this moment, about Hyuk confessing to him and he confessing in return, but he’d never imagined this. for Hyuk to catch him dreaming about them being together, for Hyuk to hear him saying his name over and over, and for Hyuk to then confess when he woke up.

“Hyuk,” Leo finally managed to say, but couldn’t get out any more words to go along with it.

“I’m sorry if you don’t feel the same way,” Hyuk suddenly said, looking down to hide the tears Leo knew where beginning to form, “I just….I heard you saying my name and saying I love you and I just thought……I thought that meant you liked me too. I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have assumed that. I’ll go now, hyung. Please just—.”

Leo pulled Hyuk in for a hug, cutting off the younger’s sentence. Hyuk froze for a moment before wrapping his arms around Leo and resting his head on the elder’s shoulder. The pair stayed like that for several minutes before Leo pulled back slightly.

“I like you, too,” Leo said before pressing their lips together. The kiss only lasted for a few seconds before Leo pulled back, looking Hyuk in the eye as a means of silently conveying just how much he liked the younger, but it was better than any of the kisses he’d shared with Hyuk in his dreams.
