The night air was perfect, Ravi smiled to himself. Not to cold and not very hot. It meant that lots of human would be out which in turn meant that he had a lot of choice for his dinner. Plus, with a lot of people around he could easily blend into the crowd and no one would know he’d been there, taking the life blood of some random human.
Ravi was just about to go over to his victim – a pretty blond who’d been eyeing him all night – when he heard someone cry out in pain. The smell of blood met his nose and he felt compelled to go see what was going on. Slipping through the crowd, he finally found a young boy who was being beaten by several older men. The boy looked so weak, so defenceless, yet he still tried to fight back against his attackers.
He had no idea why he did it, but Ravi moved to block the punch coming at the boy. He glared at the men before lunging to attack them. The men soon realized that they weren’t strong enough to take on Ravi and fled, leaving the vampire and young human alone.
“What?” Ravi joked as he noticed the boy trying to get up, “no thank you?”
“Why?” the boy growled, “why did you help? I have nothing to give you so what do you want?”
“Your blood would be nice,” Ravi shrugged, running a finger along the boy’s bleeding lip. The boy flinched, but he looked even more scared when Ravi stuck the finger in his mouth.
“What are you?” the boy asked.
“Vampire,” was all Ravi said in reply.
“Are you going to kill me?” there was a hopeful glint in the boy’s eye, like he really wanted death, and Ravi paused. He was suddenly curious about the boy. He wanted to know everything about him, but he wasn’t sure why. Actually, Ravi realized he didn’t really care why either.
“No,” Ravi said, “I’m not going to kill you.” the boy started to protest, but Ravi quickly knocked him out before taking him away into the night.
A/N: Couldn’t help myself, I just had to write this.
