“I love you,” Ken said with a smile before leaning in for a kiss.

Unfortunately for him, Hyuk pushed him away before their lips could connect.

“No,” Hyuk scowled, “you don’t.”

“What do you mean I don’t?” Ken frowned, “I think I know how I feel, Hyukkie.”

“You’re in lust with me,” Hyuk sighed, “I know it seems a lot like love, but…….but it’s not. And once you’ve gotten what you want, you’ll move on. You’ll fall in love with someone who isn’t me.”

“….”

“It’s ok, though,” Hyuk smiled, “I don’t mind. We’re still friends though, right? So let’s forget about all of this.”

“No,” Ken growled.

“No?” Hyuk frowned, “no……no we aren’t friends?”

“No, I’m not going to forget about this,” Ken said, “No, this isn’t lust. Hyuk, I…..I know Ravi told you he loved you. I know N said it. I know Leo said it. I know Hongbin said it. And I know that once they got what they wanted from you, they dumped you. They told you that they didn’t really love you, that they were just using you. I know all of that but,” Ken sighed, “but I mean it. When I say that I love you. You….you should know that I would never tell you that unless I meant it.”

“Ken,” Hyuk blinked, unsure of what to say.

He was just so scared of getting hurt again. Of putting himself out there for love, only to end up crying and broken once again. He’d loved Ravi so much, but Ravi had dumped him after they had a few dozen times. He’d thought the world of N, but N had dumped him after Hyuk had helped him pass his finals. He’d really thought that Leo was the one, but Leo ended things after bleeding Hyuk dry money wise. He’d been hesitant to love Hongbin, but Hongbin had worked hard to win him over. But once Hongbin got Hyuk to do a bunch of weird ual stuff, Hyuk found himself dumped. Turned out, Hongbin had a girlfriend who hadn’t wanted to do that stuff, so he got Hyuk to do it instead.

And now here was Ken.

He’d known Ken since they were kids. They’d been best friends for ages and told each other everything. It was Ken who he’d gone to when Ravi crushed him, when N broke him, when Leo shattered him, and when Hongbin destroyed him. The other had always smiled and hugged him, assured him that there would be someone who would love him like he deserved.

Was that…….had that been Ken’s way of saying ‘I love you’? Had Hyuk just been blind to Ken’s feelings? Or was Ken using him now like all the other’s had?

“I love you,” Ken said one again, “and….and I know you might not love me back now, maybe you never will, but…….but I have to try, Hyukkie. I….I know I can fix your heart, I know I can be the one who’ll always love you, I……I love you.”

“Ken,” Hyuk told him, “I….I don’t know if I’ll love you, but……..but I…..I want to try.”

Ken smiled brightly before pulling Hyuk in for a hug.

“I promise,” Ken whispered in Hyuk’s ear, “I will never hurt you. I will always love you. I will never be like the ones before, the ones who broke your heart to pieces.”

A/N: I feel so bad about making the other members the bad guys here. But over all I love this one~~!
