Sometimes, Ken would look up at the night sky and think about just how big everything was. There were so many planets and stars, so many galaxies. The universe was massive! He knew for a fact that there were hundreds of thousands of people out there too.

So how was it that he’d fallen in love with the one being that he could never truly have? Not like others could have their lovers anyway.

“It’s been a while since you thought about this,” Hyuk said, holo-form appearing over Ken’s shoulder.

“We’ve been doing a lot of stuff lately,” Ken sighed, “traveling, searching for Hongbin. Trying to figure out who else is looking for him. I haven’t had time to dwell on it.”

“I wish you didn’t have time now,” Hyuk sighed, “It always makes me feel bad. About what I am.”

“Don’t feel bad about what you are, Hyukkie,” Ken smiled slightly, sadly, “if you weren’t what you are, then we wouldn’t be here.”

“I just,” Hyuk scowled, “I wish I was human, like you. Then.......then we could be together as you want.” He paused, “as I want.”

“We’re still together,” Ken quickly pointed out, feeling awful for making Hyuk feel bad, “and it might not be the way I dreamed, but I’d rather this then nothing. Besides, I like how thing are now. Sure I can kiss you or even touch you, but we’re more connected than any other couple.”

“True,” Hyuk nodded in agreement, “......I love you, Jaehwan.”

“I love you too, Hyuk,” Jaehwan smiled, “Beta.”

A/N: *looks at how long it’s been since the last RvB au was written* oh, that............that was a while ago, huh? *clears throat* to be fair, it’s not that easy to find themes that fit exactly what I want to do and that the problem with all these long au stories, I have to write stuff that fits the story or else........well I get parts that up the flow and I have to cut some stuff to fix that (I think we’re all recalling how theme 100 got cut from the homeless au full story version. I stand by my doing that btw, it didn’t fit so it had to go)
