Hyuk watched from the corner of his eye as Leo lifted weights. Honestly, the older was already strong enough psychically, why did he need to work out so hard to get stronger? The older noticed Hyuk looking at him and nodded towards the running machine Hyuk had been using, silently telling him to get back to work. Hyuk frowned slightly before returning his attention to what he had been doing.

“Why do you work out so hard?” Hyuk asked later as the pair cuddled in bed.

“What do you mean?” the older questioned, moving to rest his head on Hyuk’s shoulder. Leo smiled slightly when Hyuk wrapped his arms around him.

“You’re already really strong,” Hyuk explained, “so I don’t get why you need to work out so hard to get stronger.”

“I like to stay in shape,” Leo replied, but that wasn’t really true.

Hyuk might think he was strong, but he wasn’t. He might be psychically strong, but not on the inside. Hyuk was the stronger of the pair on the inside. He could always make Leo feel better when he was upset, when he felt like breaking down. Hyuk was the reason Leo wanted to be psychically strong, so that he could protect his most precious person. But he wasn’t going to let the maknae know that yet. He’d wait for him to figure that out on his own.

A/N: had some problems with this prompt, but I think it worked pretty well in the end.
