Hyuk knew it was only a matter of time before Ken’s old alpha shows his face. People knew where to find them, find their pack. And that was beyond dangerous when you had someone who was hunting you. Hyuk never wanted anything to happen to his mate. Several times, he’d considered taking Ken, BamBam, JB, Jackson, and Mark and just....leaving – maybe he’d take a few others like N, Leo, Ravi, and Hongbin. But he couldn’t just leave the rest of the pack. They had come looking for a family and Hyuk couldn’t take that way.

“Long time no see, rouge,” the alpha growled, glaring down at Hyuk.

“Wish it was longer,” Hyuk replied, “I was hoping that you’d die before finding us.”

“Boy,” the alpha scoffed, “I’ve stayed alive this long just so that I could kill you and the one who ran away. Ripping out the throats of your pack will just make things better.”

“You’ll never touch my pack or my mate,” Hyuk growled, “you crazy psycho path. I’ll kill you before you can kill any of us.”

The pair changed into their wolf forms and charged at each other. Teeth sunk into flesh and claws drew blood. Both yelped in pain before returning their attention to the fight, to killing the other. Hyuk had youth and strength to his advantage, but the alpha had experience and fought dirty. Although for all his dirty moves, Hyuk had to win the fight. He couldn’t lose, he couldn’t die until the alpha was dead. That kept Hyuk going no matter how much it hurt.

“Hyuk!” he heard someone call as he pulled back from the alpha.

The alpha dropped to the ground, dead, and Hyuk slowly turned to find Ken running towards with Leo and N right behind him. Hyuk shifted back into his human form, howling in pain thanks to his wounds. As soon as he was on two legs, he started to fall, his injuries too great. Ken managed to catch him before he hit the ground, crying as he called for Hyuk to open his eyes.

A/N: ..............I feel tempted to add just one more theme to this before posting the final, complete story version…….but I’m not going to. Hahaha I’m gonna torture you guys for a little bit before posting the full version, but it will be up by the end of the day.
