Life was perfect if you asked Leo. He had a place to live, food to eat, and someone he loved in his life. Sanghyuk was his everything and he had no problem admitting that. no, he had no problems telling Sanghyuk how he felt just so long as his lover was the only one who heard. When it came to other hearing, then the cat boy shut up and didn’t say anything at all.

“Leo,” Sanghyuk called, “what are you thinking about.”

“You,” Leo admitted, averting his gaze even though he knew Sanghyuk could still see his blush.

“As much as I love hearing that,” Sanghyuk laughed, “you should be paying more attention to where you’re walking.”

“Right,” Leo nodded as Sanghyuk grabbed his hand, entwining their fingers.

Yeah, everything was perfect in Leo’s life.

“Taekwoon?”

And then everything wasn’t.

Leo froze at that name, his old name. Only one person had called him that; his first owner. His first owner had done horrible things to him, things Leo didn’t like to think about. His first owner was the reason he had changed into his full cat form, the form Sanghyuk had found him in the day they met. When he was in that form, his first owner had no use for him and eventually gave him up. From there, it was owner after owner who abandoned him, but at least they never did what his first owner had done to him.

Now that man was there, standing a few feet away, looking at him and Sanghyuk with a smile. A smile. Leo felt sick to his stomach seeing that smile on the man’s face. He wanted to run, drag Sanghyuk back to their apartment and stay there forever, hidden where that man could never find them.

“Never thought I’d see you again,” the man said, making his way over and finally looking at Sanghyuk, “Who’s this?”

“I’m Sanghyuk,” Sanghyuk said, pulling Leo closer to him, “his boyfriend.”

Normally, Leo would love hearing Sanghyuk refer to himself like that, as his boyfriend, but now he wanted Sanghyuk so call himself ‘owner.’ Maybe that would scare this evil man off, knowing that Leo belonged to another, one who wouldn’t give him up for anything.

“Oh?” the man raised an eyebrow, clearly finding the title ‘boyfriend’ funny, “your boyfriend?”

“Yes,” Sanghyuk nodded, moving Leo behind him when the man took another step closer, “and we’re on a date, so kindly leave us alone. You’re upsetting Leo.”

“Leo?” the man laughed, “is that your new name? What happened to Taekwoon, the name I gave you?”

Leo didn’t answer, just pressed himself against Sanghyuk as tightly as he could. The man laughed once more before leaving, promising Leo that he’d see him around.

Everything in Leo’s life had been perfect until that man walked back into it.
