Maybe Tomorrow

Prologue:

 As he put on his school uniform, he thought about the upcoming day. He dreaded going to school, having to deal with the mean group of kids, just wanting to go home. Even if there never was much to go home to, it's what made him much happier. He always tried to be happy, but he just couldn't fill the emptiness he felt inside. All of these thoughts and he never said a word. He has his parents, and yes a few close friends, but he was still lonely. As much as he tried to be good, quiet, and nice, it still didn't keep the bullies away.

He put on his jacket then his glasses. They were right, he thought as he looked at himself in the mirror. He was too fat, unattractive, nerdy, and too wimpy. He deserved every bit of unkindness that he received. Did he really have to go? To sit and be embarrassed to eat his rice at lunch, feeling like he should just throw it away? He really shouldn't each too much anyway. It would just add to the weight. With his short size, heavyweight, and glasses to follow, he was just an average nerd to pick on.

He grabbed his bag and put it on his back. Why must school start so early? Why must I walk the whole way? He could use a few of those walks, actually. Still, they haven't been helping as of yet.

"I'm going to school." He told his mother as he took off his slippers and put on his shoes.

"Don't you want breakfast?" His mother asked him as his hand went for the doorknob.

He took offense to that statement. Because of how overweight he is, he obviously eats so much, why would such a heavy person skip something such as breakfast? He knew that was all in his head. She was just asking out of curiosity because she loves her son and is only trying to be a good mother to her only child. He knew this just as well.

"No, not today. It's okay." He gave a sweet smile and opened the door.

"Ryeowook-"

His mother's voice was cut off by the door slamming shut with Ryeowook gone. He's been sad lately. He's been sad a long time. It wasn't his mother's concern and he definitely wasn't going to bother her about it.

With his abrupt leave, he desperately wanted to go back inside and apologize to his mother. To say "I love you", and give her a kiss goodbye. Instead, his feet kept him walking down the street, the same street he walked nearly every day.

The same things. The same stress. The same path. What was he to do? He was bored, tired. Sad. The thing he loved most, he has forgotten for many years.

But maybe, maybe tomorrow, someone could help him remember it again...
