I only have a few memories of Unnie before.

I remember her; she was so pretty and graceful. Even as a child, I knew I wanted to grow up becoming someone like my Unnie.

Once, I went into her room and she had a wide smile on her face, she seemed so happy, holding a picture to her chest.

“Soojung! Come here!” she told me when she noticed I was standing.

I came closer and she showed me the picture. A smiling man was in the picture, he was handsome and he seemed like a nice Oppa. My naive self back then didn’t know, wouldn’t have known that my sister was having problems, that she needed help.

“Is he your lover, Unnie?” I asked her innocently.

I remember she stared at the picture for a long time, before turning to me.

“Yes, he is, Soojung.”

I was happy for my Unnie, I was happy back then. I had my parents, my sister, we lived perfectly fine and I wasn’t in need for anything.
