Are you happy?

Weeks passed and it was getting closer and closer to the showcase. You hadn’t heard from Myungsoo in a while, but that didn’t prevent you from bumping into Woori every dance class. She stopped making your life so difficult for the meantime, due to her practicing for the showcase as well.  Though, every now and then she’d bark at you with snarky and rude comments.

Woohyun would occasionally save you from her presence, and he’d introduce you to his friends. The more time spent went Woohyun, the closer you two got and the more distance placed between you and Myungsoo.

Today was a very hectic day. You were frantically searching through your bag for a disc that contained the music for your showcase. 

“I can’t find it!” You yelled in frustration.

You started throwing things out of your bag; causing a few items to fling onto the floor. Hara was calmly typing away on her laptop, her eyes glued onto the sheet besides her. Her headphone was over her ears, preventing her from hearing anything you were yelling.

Your dance notes landed onto Hara’s lap, causing her to jump in shock. She took your notes off her lap and lightly tossed them onto the table. She closed her laptop and pulled her headphone off; giving you a blank expression before she exhaled deeply.

“What is it Sunye?” Hara sighed. “You’re so jumpy lately”

Your head wiped up sharply, your eyes wide with fear.

“Hara! I can’t find it!” You squeaked.

“Find what?” Hara asked calmly

“My disc that’s for the big showcase” You answered frantically.

Hara blinked at you with a tired expression before taking a sip of her smoothie.

“First of all, it’s not a ‘big’ showcase. It’s just showcase.” Hara started to explain. “…and second, you probably left it at one of the dance practice rooms” 

“Well it’s pretty important!” You retorted, ignoring Hara’s last comment.

Hara looked at you with little patience and shrugged at your panic state. You were getting edgier by the second as the showcase date got closer. Everyone was working hard for their performances, but things didn’t seem to go so smoothly for you.

“GAH!” You flung your arms in the air “I give up! I’ll just fail. Just give me the 0 and kick me out of this university!”

“Sunye, you’ve got to learn to relax” Hara said, returning to her work.

“Well you’re one to talk!” You snapped “You don’t have to perform on stage! Your showcase is just on art exhibition!”

Hara scowled at your words. You realized what you said and bowed your head.

“Sorry Hara…” You apologized “I shouldn’t have said that… You have it hard too”

What you said was true. Hara had been extremely busy with her art exhibition; getting everything sorted and fit to her needs.

“It’s fine…” Hara smiled “You’re just stressed out”

“Tell me about it” You sighed.

Slowly you started to put things back into your bag. Hara handed you your dance notes with her eyebrow raised.

“You’ve sure made a lot of changes to your choreography” Hara stated as she read over your diagrams.

You shrugged as you took the notes into your hand and shoved them into your bag without a care.

“It’s like that. Seungho sometimes doesn’t like his moves so he’s always changing them, so that means I’ll have to change my parts to fit his” You explained.

Hara gave you a thoughtful nod, but a grin soon leapt onto her lips.

“Sooo.,, You and Seungho?” Hara teased

You threw your phone at her, but she caught it swiftly before chucking it back at you.

“There’s nothing going on between me and my dance partner” You rolled your eyes

“Fine fine” Hara said, holding out her hands in defense “But what about you and Woohyun”

Hara gave you a knowing look, causing your cheeks to heat up.

“Hey! Woohyun is just a close friend!” You defended yourself.

“You’re going to leave L very jealous” Hara chuckled.

The mentioning of L got you feeling sad. The playful glint in your eyes disappeared.

“We don’t talk anymore…” You said in a sad tone “Myungsoo and I are growing distant…”

“Cause of Woori” Hara said in an annoyed tone.

“I don’t think it’s just that …” You sighed. “Plus, he’s always busy”

“Because of Woori!” Hara pressed

“No…” You shook your head “Because of the showcase I guess”

Hara stared at you as if you’ve gone insane. She was about to say something but you cut her thoughts off. You stood up with little energy and gave her a small smile.

“I’m going to check the practice rooms again” You muttered.

As you started to walk away Hara called, causing you to turn your head.

“Sunye…”Hara said softly “Are you happy?”

You blinked in confusion, slightly taken back with her question.

“About what?” You asked.

Hara stared at you with a serious expression. You shifted uncomfortably as you heard the words mutter out her lips. You turned around quickly, walking away. Hara’s words wouldn’t stop echoing in your mind.

I’m talking about Myungsoo...Are you happy?
