Chanyeol does do some nice things for Baekhyun and he takes care of him when he's sick and what not. One day Chanyeol is shocked to find Baekhyun sitting in a tub full of ice water while drinking toilet cleaner. Baekhyun hazy from it tells him about his abusive dad and abused mom/unborn sister from his past. He was trying to protect them hence his actions. Another day Chanyeol finds Baekhyun drunk off soju banging his head against the wall begging for corrosive liquids to drink. Basically it's his coping mechanism that he unknowingly developed but he doesn't remember it when he does it (banging his head, drinking). Baekhyun hadn't remembered the time when he was little when he was abused but Chanyeol so happened to lock him in the washroom forcing him into a similar enviornment of his past and this triggers his memories. It also triggers the fact that he had a love life in his past and Chanyeol and Baekhyun were in love in his past as well as children. When Chanyeol knows this fact he tries to make it up to Baekhyun only to have Baekhyun tell him that he's going to die of liver cancer.
