Description
Rae was struggling to provide for herself through the first few seasons of living in the Korean slums. Having immigrated from the United States, she desires to experience new culture, new people, and new independence from the constant pressure of her parents. Instead, she's plunged into a dangerous environment where she is followed by shadows of monsters from both reality and fiction. Her fears are amplified when it seems the only person able to protect her is the one who poses the greatest threat to her life: Choi Junhong.
Foreword
It had been hours since the red heart of the sun had relinquished its position above the horizon. I observed the brittle branches of frost that had begun to creep against the window edges, framing the street view beyond:
Dark, cluttered with various stands of differing sizes and products. A wavering streetlight sparked brief illumination once in a trio of shop faces. Occasionally, a bundled pedestrian shuffled past the empty stands, bound for a source of heat amongst the chill of late winter.
